I think one of my biggest pet peeves is grocery stores where they keep rearranging things. I like going to the same stores so I can just run in and grab something if I'm in a hurry --- today I stopped at one of my favorite stores (Trader Joe's) to find they did what I would call a "basket upset" --- I had to hunt for everything! I went through every aisle before I found the three things I went in to pick up.

If I ever, ever find a store where they leave things in the same place, they will have a customer for the rest of my life!

Donna I've been told they rearrange things on purpose to make you go down different aisles and possibly buy new products. It makes sense to me but you're right -it's annoying!

My grocery store is undergoing renovation. Floor is torn up, aisles are moving about daily. It's pretty obnoxious, but I'm sure it will be beautiful when finished...

Other pet peeve: tailgaters & people who text-message while driving.

Donna, Yeah I hate that too! Ugh! I usually promise myself immediately not to buy anything I didn't "plan" in an effort to discourage them from ever rearranging again, but whatever! Once they rearrange things, of course I run into new things I've never noticed before---which is exactly their intent. GRRRR.

Donna,
I'm your worst nightmare! LOL That's what I do all day at the grocery store I work in!!!! I can't help it, I get bored and then I have to start moving things around, and then I find something else to move around, and next thing you know the whole aisle is completely different. Sorry :evilsmile I'll try to ease up on the rearranging from now on.

My biggest pet peeve is people always asking for time off work. Most days I go to work feeling absolutely miserable, but I go anyway because its my day and I don't want to put anybody else in a bind. I have a co-worker who constantly asks me to work for her or just takes off without finding someone to cover for her...drives me insane!!!!!

LOL Donna,
I have been in the gro business for 15 years a mang for 10 then decided being a gro mang was to much stress and went to work for Walmart. Yes in the gro dept..lol The reason most Gro stores do this is for a few reasons one is to take everything down check dates and clean shelves, the other reason is to make room for new items and of course to make you look for your product hoping in the process you will see other items..Trust me Donna we hate it as much as the shoppers...lol

Now my pet peeve is for the kids to stuff the garbage can :tsk: thinking that maybe the can might get bigger at some point...But of course it never does and I end up picking trash up from behind when they finally decide to take it out...:cussing:

OMG Ronda I hate the trash. I have an outside trash can as my kitchen trashcan because a regular kitchen trashcan would get full like 4 times a day. I can not tell how many times I have to tell them to take out the trash and then they complain it's too heavy, that's from pushing it down just like you said! Ugh!

What drives me nuts more than anything is when you are driving and someone is in such a hurry to pull out in front of you and then go 2 mph. My biggest societ irk is when people can not take care of the children they have properly and continue to have more. There are pplenty of people who would be wonderful parents but for whatever reason can't have kids. Then you have people who have a whole brood and don't appreciate them one bit. If you can't take care of them give them to someone who can and then don't have anymore.

Our farmer jacks closed down and reopened as Kroger, there is nothing where it use to be...... ggggggggrrrrrrrr

Ok! This has nothing to do with grocery stores, but I can't stand when people have bad hygiene. How hard is it to take a shower or to brush your teeth once in awhile? A bar of soap is inexpensive, so there is no reason a person can use it.

My current pet peeve is the way the entire sport of baseball has thrown Barry Bonds under the bus.

No one has proven he used steroids. It's likely that he did. He has certainly not denied it.......and honestly I think he's kind of a jerk, as he's pretty arrogant and I wasn't impressed with his complete lack of congratulating the man who caught the ball that tied his record with Hank Aaron.

BUT!!!!

What the media fails to report over and over again is that steroids were NOT illegal in the sport of baseball until two or three years ago.

Steroids are not illegal drugs in the U.S. They are usually banned in sports. If I wanted to beef up and start building muscle I could use steroids if I wanted to.

They were not banned in the sport of baseball until after Jose Conseco's book came out accusing Barry Bonds and others of using steroids.

THEN and ONLY then, were steroids banned in the sport of baseball.

And for some reason Congress got involved too. ???? Shouldn't they have better things to do than worry about sports figures allegedly using athletic enhancing substances?

Hmmm. So why is Barry Bonds so demonized?

I find it a little baffling. I think Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and Mark McGwire (sp?) SAVED the sport of baseball. Before Mark McGwire and all these guys started breaking homerun records a few years ago, NO ONE cared about baseball. Then, during primetime television, tv programs were being interrupted to show Mark McGwire up at bat to break the homerun record.

And now??? Mark McGwire has been thrown under the bus too. It's possible he'll never get into the baseball hall of fame.

As far as steriods go----no amount of strength & power can line a bat up with a ball, going over 90 mph, behind that plate, at the exact & precise moment necessary to knock a ball over the fence.

Hand-eye coordination and timing cannot be bought or injected.

I'm glad that Hank Aaron showed some class and at least joined via satellite and said some words of congratulations.

I feel like the sport of baseball has hung certain players out to dry---namely the record breakers. Since steroids were perfectly legal in this sport up until recently, my guess is that wayyyy more people were using them than Barry Bonds (if he is actually guilty that is). That doesn't make using them "right" or even "okay," but they weren't illegal or against the rules in any way.

That is my pet peeve of the week.

You sound like my oldest son. He has said the same thing to me about Bonds. He is happy that he is hitting all these HR's. He also said that baseball was going down the tubes until these homerun hitters started hitting the long balls.

OK I know I shouldn't be drinking coffee but.... :bonk: my biggest pet peeve is when co-workers, managers, subordinates, whatever bother me the second I walk in the door to work before I even get a chance to put my stuff down and get my coffee. My employees already know my "rule" they don't say more than good morning to me until I am done with my cup (I promise its a watered down 8 oz.)

One of my very many pet peeves is when you go to a store and you get an attitude from the person that works there. Like at the pharmacy today, the pharmacist and I got into it because they had my daughter's insurance information wrong and refused to change it until I called my state case worker (she's on my Medicaid). Well it was a nasty exchanged and I am still po'd...

If you hate your job so much, quit it! Yeesh.

I have a few pet peeves. The thing that REALLY gets me going is when someone gets extremely hypocrytical (sp?) and doesn't see it. Like they will do something over and over and OVER and when someone else does the a similar thing (and for a better reason) they get all bent out of shape and don't get it.

I don't know if that makes sence but yeah...

Totally off subject but here is mine for the week :cussing:

Hubby's dog who totally loves to roll in worms will wait for me to walk outside roll in one and then refuse to come near me to get the bath she knows is coming. GRRRRR Can you tell we have had a bad week with this. Only 4 baths in 5 days.

I was trying to think of a pet peeve. I am pretty peeveless, but how bout peeing on the toilet seat?? Sometimes I don't look to well before I go potty and when I get up and pull every thing back up... I get that super gross wet feeling ( you know what I mean).:cussing:

SWARR:

Ha ha haha hahaha! Well......Sorta......as I HATE this too!

You know what I figured out? I know who's doing it!

It's people like my OWN mom and MIL who are afraid of sitting on public toilet seats so they squat and end up squirting the whole seat.

I've told them both before, "You guys are the one's peeing all over the seats for the rest of us!"

Seriously, they are! I've walked into the stalls directly after both of them and luckily, I noticed their terrible squat job and walked right back out. But I've definitely had my share of sitting on peepee'd toilet seats.

UGH!!!

My biggest pet peeve is people who throw their cigarette butts out of their car windows. How hard is it to just put it out in their ash tray? That is how fires get started!!!!

Barry Bonds DID do some form of steriods, there is not doubt about that. The argument is whether or not he deservies it, is BECAUSE he IS NOT all natural. And the record that was set YEARS ago, they did not do Steriods or anything else, in Baseball or any other sport.

There are others in the sports world that to things that bulk them selves up and get as big as Barry...it Does NOT come naturally....Sorry.

Natural and "Real" steriods ARE illlegal in the USA! You most certainly can get them...but they ARE ILLEGAL...

:evilsmile For LeeAnn: My evil juices are flowing this morning. When those two come to visit, when they go to the bathroom, be sure to run in ahead of them and sprinkle a little water on the seat so they will feel more at home.... :evilsmile

And for cali girl: Another pet peeve of mine is people who stand just outside doors to public places smoking --- so I have to either smell the yuck or hold my breath and run.

Okay --- back to  now!

Ok- I have a few-- Perfume and cig. smoke- boy do they mix well. This morning getting on the elevator at work. Boy, you could really drown(?) in it!! It was that bad!

My family (especially my sons when they get sick- somehow they don't reach the toilet-- yes I finally got it through to them to at least go to the bathroom (they are adults now) but still you would THINK??? I still had to clean up a little bit -
dirty clothes: again this is my eldest- apparently he doesn't think when I say if your clothes are not in the dirty clothes basket (each kid has one in their room and has had one since they were young) that their clothes don't get wash) -- I finally held up my part of the deal the other day!! I didn't wash his clothes (and you know why?? his clothes weren't in the dirty basket-- and when he came looking for clothes? Maybe next time he will learn?? I doubt it!!
Kitchen duties: when they do the dishes and clean up the kitchen somehow they don't clean the cabinets.

As to peeing on the toilet seat (especially when there are seat covers???
Oh, come on!
I think thats it for now.

My pet peeve are telemarketers. I know that they are trying to make a living, but I can't stand people that try to sell me something over the telephone. If I want or need anything, I will do my research and call for the service, item, etc. I especially hate the ones that tell you that you just won a trip!!!

Well I certainly think Barry Bonds probably DID do steroids. But this is the ICN and you can't come right out and say anything negative about someone or you risk having your post being edited or possibly outright deleted. :)

So YES, I think he is certainly GUILTY as charged for doing steroids.

But my point is that steroids were not a banned substance in the sport of baseball until 2-3 years ago.

Steroids are not illegal in this country. If I wanted to become a bodybuilder and use them I could. They are not against the law.

They are against the rules in most sports though.

Baseball didn't get around to banning steroids until after Jose Conseco published his book exposing certain players. Then Congress decided to get involved and the League decided to go ahead and make them against the rules.

But no one ever says this. They all act like Barry Bonds broke the rules. He didn't. They weren't banned at the time!!

There's no telling how many players were using them b/c no one was tested for steroids until recently----and why would they? They aren't illegal in this country and they were not banned substances in baseball.

That was my point.

And no, anabolic steroids are not illegal in the U.S. and they have been around since the 1930's. They are controlled substances and require a prescription---probably not hard to get if you have a lot of $$$$ or if you're famous.

 Donna: I'm :lmao: about your evil water sprinkling trick. Too bad they live half way across the country. I'm going to have to wait a few months to pull this one off but I will be sure to do it. I'll have to do it over and over while they are here, otherwise they'll be polite and say nothing. LMAO!!!

Ok i have a few... one is at work people dont flush the toilet... they leave pee or nasty poop. GROSSS one time i walked in and someone left poop strips on the bottom of the toilet. AHHHH SOOOO NASTY. The worst is when there is hair on the seat.... and it's not hair from your head. I'de rather drive home and pee then go in that bathroom! YEesshh

Another is when your driving on the highway and people ride up your butt and flash you to move over. Me being stuborn never get over and they continue to flash you for like 10 miles lol.

I have several...

1) People who love to stir the pot just enough to cause an argument, KNOWING full well what they say or do is controversial.

2) Nose pickers....those people that pick their noses, thinking they are doing it discretely then roll their prize in between their fingers and toss it somewhere that *I* might have to walk or sit! oh.......just ohhhhhhhhh

3) Those people who drive through my usually quiet neighborhood with music coming out of their trunks that makes my windows and floors rattle...boom, ba ba ba boom boom boom....I swear, one day I'm gonna be out there and write down a license plate and call the cops for disturbing the peace. I'm not an old fart, I've got a 19 year old son who turns his stereo DOWN when he drives into a neighborhood!

4) People who drive below the speed limit. Yes, I know it is the speed LIMIT, but give me a BREAK please. I am not asking you to speed or break the law. I am simply asking you to go at the speed that is allowed so that the rest of us do now have to go 10-15 miles below the posted limit simply because you like looking in your rear view mirror and seeing a lonnnnnnnng line of bumper to bumper traffic behind you and knowing you are responsible.

5) School is going to start soon. I can't stand those parent's that stand on major 2 lane roads that get their kids off the bus and decide that they have to hug and kiss their kindergartner's right there in the road. Get OUT of the road so the bus can move on, and then WE can move on and then you can love on your kid all you want!!!!

6) People in professional jobs that pop/crack their gum constantly. Just don't chew gum if you work with the public. It's really, really not attractive, and if you must chew gum, do it with your mouth closed. When you smack, crack constantly and blow bubbles you remind me of a farm animal who has something stuck in it's throat. If you disagree with me, stand in front of a mirror for a few minute and watch yourself chew gum like you normally would...that constant crack, crack, crack, crack, crack, crack is enough to make me wanna grab that gum out myself sometimes. lol

I could name more, but I should probably stop now. Don't ya love pms? :)

TV or music too loud. Pretty much any noise that's louder than I can handle. I probably have more but these are my most sensitive. Teaching and the loud bells have damaged my hearing.
ALso, big electric bills.:cussing: I grew up in Houston without a/c and though I can't handle summers without it now i, have managed to conserve & I've managed to keep mine to just $150 this summer...very pleased...last summer I was getting $300 bills.
