Am I pregnant?

I have had IC for seven years now. We have been trying to get pregnant and I am four days late. I feel that I may be pregnant. I am having lower back pains and some abdomenal pain on right side. Two tests have come back negative. I think I may not have enough urine to test. I have to collect it in a cup and it is only about two tablespoons. Any help?

Buy a test where you can urinate on the stick if you can. You only have to hold it mid steam for 5 seconds. The hormones that indicate pregnancy are strongest your first pee of the day ( I know with most ic'ers we pee all night long so there is no "first pee of the day". Do it when you feel your bladder is fuller than you would normally allow it to be so you get a full 5 seconds of urination on the test stick. when I was pregnant all my urine test came back negative. I had a blood test done that came back positive 6 weeks after I missed my period and 20-30 home test later. when the did my ultrasound I was 10 weeks along and the home test were still coming up negative. If you keep reading negative and don't start ask your pcp to do an hcg blood pregnancy test for you.

There are tests out there that are supposed to be very accurate, even before your period is expected. They cost more, but may be worth it.
I know that it is defiantely possible to have false negatives, so going to a Doctor might be a good idea! Good luck to you and let us know what happens!

I tested too early after I missed my period and my first one came back negative. I tested like a week later when I still didn't have my period and it was positive then. I think I bought a two pack and did them both because I was so surprised and happy that it was coming up positive.

Good luck! I hope you are!:smile tee Those tests can occasionally miss it if its too early or diluted urine. A blood test at the doctor is very accurate too! Keep us posted.
