I have a question, has anyone ever gotten waxed down south? lol I'm going to the shore with my cousin for a week and i dont want the hassle of shaving and having razor burn or ingrown hairs. So I wanted to know if anyone has tried getting a bikini wax or a brazilian wax. I scheduled a brazilian wax for thursday night. I'm scared and want to know how painful it is...

Any Advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Rachel

I have not had this done but I have read a lot about it and from what I have read...it will hurt as the wax is being pulled off. The person who does it should take her hand and press it against that area to help stop the immediate pain. I have also read that the pain goes away rather quickly once it is all finished.

Are you comfortable with the person who will be doing the waxing? Has she been recommended by people who have used her to do it? Is she part of a Salon where this is done a lot? I guess what I am asking is...Is she a professional?

Please post back about your experience. I am trying to get up the nerve to have this done.

I hope you have a wonderful time at the shore.

I use the home bikini strips kits and they work well for me. I wish I had the nerve to have it done professionally.:woohoo:

I'm going to a spa in nj. It's about 10 mins away from me. It's called the fountain. They're very professional there. I've heard they put you in all kinds of funny positions to get every hair outa that area. I've ready they use a lotion with licodine in it. I want some sort of numbing stuff for down there. I'm gunna scream so loud! lol

I will post about my fun experience.

I've done them and have had them done. Do they hurt?-yes. Is it a bit embarrassing?--yes.
Just make sure the salon is licensed as is the person who will be doing the waxing. Also, while its uncommon, its possible for infection to set in due to the trauma thats done to the skin, so keep a close eye on anything out of the ordinary (excess/lingering pain, lingering redness, hot to the touch, bleeding, etc). Follow the aftercare instructions carefully.

Have fun at the beach!

thanks for the advice girls~! I'm sure their licenesed, and will double check when i'm there.

My co-worker and her friend went one time to a spa to get a massage. My co-worker got a bubbly women who was holding her hand as they went into the room. (anita- my coworker had never gotten a massage before so she didnt know what to expect.) the women told her to get undressed and put the towel over her. After a while of massaging her with salt scrub the women removed the towel and started massaging her breast. Anita not knowing that was wrong went along with it. she said after a while her nipples were starting to get raw and they burned. After the massage was over her friend and her went to the steam room. Sitting there anita proceeded to tell her friend that her nipples hurt. Her friend asked her why? and she said b/c they used the salt scrub on them for a while and now their raw. Her friend was astonished and said ANITA THEIR NOT SUPPOSED TO TAKE THE TOWEL OFF!!!! She started laughing and said oh so i basically just got molested by a lesbian. Scary huh??
I'm afraid something is going to happen when i get my waxing done. lol but i'm not stupid so i'll punch the women lol.
thought i'de share!

I get it done...and its really not a big deal....its not pleasant, but it does get easier over time. And finding someone who you click with is good, I went to 4-5 differnent people til I found the gal I see now. I get full Brazilian (front and back). I keep up with the instructions she gave me to keep ingrowns from happening (using a scrub made of some salt and baking soda and bit of water to make it pasty.) It hurts less and less....I've felt worse. I just try to suck it up and get it done. I would never go back to shaving with all the cuts, bumps ingrowns and still seeing the remainder of the hair shaft under the skin...YUCK!

Good luck with the spa! :hi:
