Yes, there is a place in PA dutch country called Dutch Wonderland, pretty lame huh? LOL. It's been owned by Hershey for the last couple of years and apparently they have really fixed it up. Well Griffin's 3rd birthday is on Thursday (Aug 2) so we're taking him there this weekend. It's all kids rights and he can get on everything. I can't wait, I just really hope that my IC doesn't act up. I think I'll take some pain pills with me because there is no way I'm leaving early because of my IC. I want him to enjoy his time there and not have to leave early because of Mommy. I'll be on Saturday night or Sunday morning with tons of pictures I'm sure, my mother has instructed me to take a ton of pictures so she can see how much fun he has. I hope everything has a good weekend.:smile tee

I wish I could go with you. I just know you'll have a good time. One thing you can do is to be sure to sit to watch whenever you can instead of standing up when he's on the rides.
Is the park near Hershey? I was in Hershey many years ago --- and got to sample the chocolate goodies --- that was even before the IC.
Have fun!

We've been to Dutch Wonderland with our grandchildren and had a great time. In fact our son buys the family a season pass since he only lives an hour away. Unfortunately, for us it is 4 hours.
They have skits that involve audience participation, and our son doesn't need a script since he has all the lines memorized.
Have a great day.
Christine - I hope you have a wonderful day! We went to Dutch Wonderland several years ago and I loved it. It is just perfect for young children - without the hustle and bustle of the larger amusement parks! And don't forget to try the sweet kettle-corn. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
Have Fun! Linda

Well, we're back, Griffin had a blast!! He got to go on tons of rides and he had so much fun in the water park area. It's not a pool but lots of water spraying everywhere and water slides. My whole body is sore, thank god for pain meds but it is totally worth it. I thought we would take more pictures but we were in the water park along time and didn't want to mess up the camera so we had that locked up. Here are the pictures we took, Griffin LOVED the pony ride.

My ears really perked up (or should I say my eyes?) when I saw Hershey. I'm a die hard chocaholic...if they had chocaholic meetings I'd be the first one to stand and say "I'm Jess and I'm a chocaholic"...well it'd come out muffled from the chocolate in my mouth, and please, do not be alarmed at the ring around my mouth :)
Griffin looks like he is having a blast! It looks like it was a great time. Happy (early) birthday, Griffin!!!

So you didn't go to Sesame Place? It sounds like Griffin had a great time and I imagine Dutch Wonderland was probably a lot more reasonable. It's nice the three of you got to have a weekend just for you.
I need to see how far that is from me; my parents are always on the lookout for places to take their other "granddaughter" (she is really a grand-niece, but there are no grandparents so my parents got the honor), who is two and a half. She has *so* much energy. My Susannah was a lot quieter at that age -- very verbal -- but not a bouncy kid. (Although Susannah turned out to be a champion athlete; so who knows.) Ellie is totally different but we adore her just the same. I always pay attention to what you guys are writing about your toddlers, because of Ellie.

That would be a great place to take her. It was much easier for me because I didn't have the long car ride to get there. He could get on pretty much every ride there with or without an adult. If you take them before they are 3 they are free too! That's why we took him the weekend before his birthday, lol.

Oh, good planning! Well, I'll map it and see how far it is. My sister wants to take my daughter to Hershey Park next summer. I'm so happy, because I'd like her to get to go there, but it's such a long drive from here, and then so much walking once you get there... and I've been there before, so it's not a big deal. But I'd never take Ellie to a big amusement parks --- as soon as she saw the big roller coasters, she'd be pleading to go on them. The kid is fearless. Fortunately she doesn't quite meet the height requirements for most of those rides... anyway that's why the place you mentioned sounds perfect.
There is a place in north western New Jersey called the Land of Make Believe, which is similarly geared to young children. It has a small water park with a lot of "kiddie" areas, and then in the amusement park all the rides are for little kids. Wow, I had forgotten all about that place! I'm glad your trip triggered a memory for me. We can definitely go there with Ellie.
