Hubby just came and woke me up and he is pacing the floor in pain. We went to the dr tonight because he had a sore throat and they gave him some amoxicillin and now his stomach is killing him. He says it feels worse than his stomach did when he had his ulcer!! I'm really freaked out right now. The only thing he did different tonight was taken this antibiotic which he's taken now without any problems. I have a call into the dr's answering service and am waiting to hear back from them but I have a horrible feeling that I'm going to the ER tonight! I really hope everything is okay.

Well, I'm not sure what the dr said when he finally called back but it seemed to have gotten better. I fell back asleep because I couldn't stay away anymore. He was finally able to go to sleep last night so hopefully he's okay. I've been telling him that he needs to go see a gastro, maybe this finally convinced him.

I think I did get him to go. I looked up gastro's in our network this morning and gave him the name of a big practice that is pretty close to our house and he said he would call. Now if he does is another story.

I'm going crazy though, I'm guessing from the stress of him being sick last night and not getting enough sleep has brought on a flare. I feel like I can't get out of the bathroom again because as SOON as I, I feel like I have to go again and my pain is pretty bad. Ugh!!:cussing:  :toilet: Feeling crappy today, last DMSO tomorrow, ugh, ugh, ugh!! I hate this crap. IC is the pits!!

the meds may have aggervated the ulcer. some meds sometimes get harsher on the stomach as we get older. Keep us posted on whats going on. sending hugs and prayers your way.

Well when I called him on my break he hadn't called yet but I think he's going to. My co-worker said that because the pain was going from his stomach around to his back that it sounded like gallbladder problems. He looked it up on webmd and said that it sounded a lot like the pain he was having last night so maybe that's the problem.

Thanks Ronda for those nice words. Thanks Cindy, sure need those hugs.
Mary I have no idea when I'm going to rest, I guess after work, blah:bonk:

I KNEW I should have just called the gasto office myself. I wanted hubby to do it because I always have to do that kinda stuff and I'm getting tired of it. Obviously there is a reason why I always do it. He called and told the person who answered about his symtpoms. She basically said, we can't help you, we don't have an appts until 8/10 and to follow up with his PCP. Well our PCP acted like it was no big deal on the phone last night. Now I'm going to have to make phone calls on my morning break tomorrow to try to find him an appointment. Good I love idiot people in dr's offices.

Did your hubby have anything greasy/fatty to eat earlier that evening? When I had my gallstones, eating anything greasy/fatty made the pain 1000X worse. The pain was in my upper right abdomen and would go up to my shoulder. That was sooo painful. Your PCP could do a blood test to see if this WBC is up--that's an indication of an infected gallbladder/gallstones. I hope things get better :grouphug:

Thanks for the suggestions Jess. Shane (hubby) doesn't really want to go to our PCP about it because when they called him back at like 1am they made it out to be no big deal at all and that made him upset. I don't know, I'm going to try to get him an appointment with a gastro so he can just get his whole GI tract checked out. Since he had the ulcer in the past and has had some odd symptoms like burping non stop all day.

Does he take stomach acid meds? Burping a lot is sometimes a sign of excess stomach acid. He could be experiencing heartburn. Try another GI's office. I'm just glad you didn't spend all night in the ER!
