:help: I am having problems with my uro. He saw me this morning and I told him I am worse. He said it was fo to the colposcopy and LEEP i have had done. His first suggestion was Interstim. he gave me a booklet with 5 lines of info on the procedure, told me to do some research and let him know in August when I see him. I have had no other treatments. Told him my pain meds weren't helping and I was taking a lot of tylenol and I was worrying about liver damage. He said 10mg loratab is WEAKER than 7.5mg and he wouldn't adjust it. Here's the atch. I have 0 ins. I have charity care through WVUH that covers my bills so my dr options are very limited. he has tons of diplomas and " the best of the best" in his fiels. specializes in IC and sexual dysfunction. I have Hunners ulcers. I dont feel comfortable jumping into interstim as my first treatment? any advice would be great. you guys are all :help: IC angles.

I can only imagine the agony you are in. Please try to go to another doc. You are entitled to a second opinion and this guy was brushing you off. The 'best of the best' doesn't always mean good bedside manner. You said insurance was an issue and he may have been reacting to that. Sounds awful but it happens. Most docs aren't like that. Can you possibly see someone else who might actually LISTEN to you?

I have to agree. I don't have the interstim but a lot of girls here do and they all say it should only be considered once you have tried all the other options out there. I would be worried about any dr who is bringing it up so soon. I have been seeing my uro since Feb or so, he did the hydro in April and we are still trying to work out treatments but no mention whatsoever of the interstim. I don't even know what he's thinking of trying yet but I wouldn't do the interstim yet that's for sure.
