I received an e-mail from my sister about a study they are doing at the U of I Hospital for adults with IC. Participates have to have IC and have not responded to three or more different types of treatments in the previous six months(which I don't know if I can partake, but i'll try). They are investigating the safety and effectiveness of an investigational immunosuppressant called CellCept in treating IC.

I called the person today who is doing the study, but I had to leave a message. I haven't herd from her yet, but when I do I'll let you know what I find out and if I can partake in the study.

I work in Champaign, IL. I dont have too many problems relating to IC, but it is wonderful that my hometown college is doing something about IC. Keep us posted!:woohoo: (GO ILLINI)

this was realy nice of you to post this information. I hope people take advantage of it.
Nonny,
Yes, clinical trials can be of great benefit to patients if they understand potential risks. CellCept is an immunosuppression drug which has side effects requiring monitoring. In the spring, Jill posted the whole study. (There is so much information on this board. Unless one is here everyday, who knows what we miss.) Below is the link.

You might want to inquire more than one place and you could get more info. It can take them quite a bit of time to call back. Let us know how it goes. It would be great if this turns out to be helpful for your IC.
Best wishes,
