I know that Cranberry Juice is a big no no, but are cranberry tablets ok to take? I heard they're good for preventing bladder infections.

I have heard they can hurt just as much as the juice can, and then others do just fine.

I tried them once.......and about an hr after taking it I was in a major flare. I'd think that IF Cranberry juice bothers you.......so would the pills. Everyone's different......so try it and see (tho I'd recommend doing that on a Sat. so you'd have Sun to recoup of it does bother you!)

When I was first coming down with this IC I tried taking some cranberry extract capsules. It caused me much more burning and pain. I also think it caused my first experience with PFD symptoms. Someday, I'll do a post with the entire story but for now, no, I don't think you should even try them. (The ones I took were designed for slow release, once a day dosing. It was agony.)

I tried cranberry tablets once. I'm on anti-inflammatories for my arthritis. The combination burned an ulcer into my duodenum that I haven't been able to get rid of in 14 years, despite lots of anti-ulcer medication. It certainly wasn't worth the risk. Did I mention the ER & losing 8 pounds in two days with the first bleed? It's not uncommon for me to bleed off 10 pounds in 5 days now. This is a BAD thing.
