Do you guys ever get really bad back pain. I have the worst lower back pain right now. I'm also on my period so that's probably got something to do with it.

I am sorry you have that horrible back pain. I feel like I am going to break in to sometimes. I use a lot of sports cream. Sometimes it helps to put it on the trigger points. Also the icy hot patches have helped with mine. I don't know if my pain is from ic. arthritis, or fibro, maybe all three. Hope you feel better quickly.

Shannon,
I am sorry you are hurting, but yes I have terrible back pain. When my bladder is having spasms like now it goes all the way around to my back and I cant get confortable no matter how I sit or lay..I think a lot of ICers have back pain.. Hope you start feeling better soon:angel:

I also suffer from back pain quite frequently. usually on my right side by my kidney..sure hope it's just a muscle and NOT my kidney.

Lots of aches and pains that go along with the joys of IC:rant:

Glad to know I'm not the only one with back pain. I'll look into the icy hot patches, I heard those work really well:)

I have terrible back pain. I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease several years ago. I get pain in my lower spine that radiates to my left hip, upper butt cheek. It's miserable because I can't get anything done because I can barely walk.

I didn't read all the replies, but Lidoderm patches are the greatest creation ever! Also, I used thermacare for backs, and those icyhot patches. None of it gets rid of the pain, but it at least numbs it for a while so I can stand up to cook dinner, etc.

I know my back pain is ALWAYS worse when I'm in a flare, so I don't think all my back problems are related to the DDD.

When I was working, I had to move a 300lb woman who was unconscious all by myself. There was nobody to help me because we were so busy. My back has NEVER been the same since then.

If my bladder burns/hurts, then lower back pain ALWAYS accompanies it. I use heating pad and Rx lidocaine patches, but am going to try the icey hot things, too, and see how well they work. Also get achey tired inner thighs (usually use a cold pack for that) and hips. :(

Another member told me she felt like someone had a curse on her and a voodoo doll that they were sticking pins into to cause her aches and pains. I thought that was the best analogy I've ever heard regarding IC. :lmao: Though not fun, still funny! So maybe you and I in someway offended the same person...though wer'e probably a good 10+ hour drive from eachother, we ARE in neighboring states....and I hear that voodoo stuff still goes on in YOUR state :biglaugh: and in my part of Texas there are those who some consider witch doctors (curanderas). So we better be careful :lmao:

Hey I said somebody's got a voodoo doll with my name on it. If they've got a curse on me too then I'd like to know exactly how that was done...lol. I'm pretty agnostic so it will take some convincing.

Anyway my back pain showed up suddenly and unexpectedly one fine Wednesday in week 6 after my UTI symptoms started. I was flat on my back 5 weekends in a row before I realized beer and food was aggravating it.

It's two spots in the middle of my back, on either side of my spine, and the pain is SHARP. STABBING. I have now also developed similar stabbing pains above my knees slightly towards the inside of my legs.

My urologist convinced me three visits in a row that the back pain is not my kidneys, then told me to get physical therapy, then last time she said to see a back specialist.

Now that I've been on this board I know she's right, it's not my kidneys. It's above them. But it IS RELATED!

Some kind of NERVE pain, right guys? Deferred pain from the angry bladder? Stupid bladder.

LMAO Briza,
You know I told my husband awhile back that I thought his ex had a Voo Doo doll on me and I always said she was a witch..You know she was born in NO...:lmao: So glad her and I are getting along now..;) So maybe she will throw the doll away now...lol
