Cymbalta or Ovcon 35 causing flare?!

Hello. I've been on Cymbalta a few days and Ovcon 35 (switched from Yasmin ) for 11 days. I'm in a horrible flare. Started 2 days ago. Have any of you had this happen with either drug? My uro refuses to give narcotics. I know more about my illness than my uro and my gyno. cymbalta agitates me horribly and makes insomnia worse for me and sleepy too. The Ovcon seems to be making my ovulation time much worse. I don't know what bcp to take for my hormones. Please help.

I take Yasmin currently. I asked my uro if Yasmin could be irritating my bladder and if I should be put on a continuous bc. He said people think that being without a period may help, but he thinks that symptoms can still be present even with skipping a period. I have to see my primary care doctor or gyno to switch. I was thinking about Ovron 35, but I'll wait to see what people post here.

Thanks for the reply. I had enough of this awful flare and am starting Yasmin tonight, even in midcycle. The nurse told me to. Nobody in my town to treat the IC well. I'm stopping the cymbalta also. I read on some site that IC is like having post traumatic stress syndrome, because the bladder is a visceral organ, that pain signals cause all kinds of emotions to be released and stresses. This illness is really getting me down.

I too found that when I was on Cymbalta, I had to take it in the morning or I was too wound up to sleep.

However, I have yet to find an antidepressant (Cymbalta included) that does not cause a flare for me. Every one seems to cause inflammation, and I know how important it is to avoid that so I stop taking them.
