First off, thanks to all who responded to my post after my first instill. All of you kept me calm and I'm committed to sticking with this treatment. Bless you all.
Just had my second rescue instill and it went MUCH better than the first. I took a xanax (to calm my bladder and myself!) about a half hour before my appointment, which was a good idea.
After my first instill, it burned when I peed and I had major bladder spasms. But, this time, I held the solution for about 45 minutes and peed it out with no problems. My bladder is a bit irritated, but that's it. Yeah!
My nurse (who is wonderful!) hasn't trained anyone to do self-instills and I think they want to see how I handle them before teaching me how to do them myself. Honestly, I'm ok with that. I don't have to pay co-pays for the instills and I'm only about 5 minutes from the clinic.
So....folks, the others are right about rescue intills...it seems to get easier.
