I had mine done in April. I had mine done at the surgery center at our local health campus for the hospital.

When I woke up afterwards I was in the recovery area and I could tell that my bladder was really sore and that I had a cath in. I told them that I had some pain and they put some pain meds in my IV. I think a couple of minutes later they took my cath out and got me moving. I went to the bathroom pretty much right away. It burned a little but I didn't really have a problem going. They gave me a vicoden and told me if I still had pain when I got home in 20 minutes I could take another one, which I did.

I was pretty drugged up that night with the vicoden and AZO to help with the bladder burning. I remember that I was sore and uncomfortable for the first couple of days but the vicoden helped that. I was tired for almost a week afterwards but that doesn't seem to be common for most people, I think it was just my body healing that was making me so tired. After a week I was pretty much back to my symptoms before they hydro, no worse, no better.

Hey Karendy,

I have had many, many of the procedures and I went thru them just fine. I just know that you will too. I have had to have one every year for approx. tha past 20 something years. The last one I had in November was not at all bad. My doc gives me a spinal. Aside from being numb from the waist down for a while, it is not that bad. This is sort of a good thing for me as the pain is not there. I usually stay over night because of other problems that I have, and go home the next day, rest several days and then life goes on. Don't be afraid. It will be over before you know it. I don't feel anything during the surgery and the doctor told me I preach the whole time. I always pray that I don't cuss or say somthing I shouldn't. That is probably what worries me the most. I hope this helps. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and let me know when you get back home and are feeling chipper again.

sending you my hugs, love and prayers.
J.J.

:woohoo: If you attention, you can put on a little after you get home, maybe you will get breakfast in bed.:tsk:
PS. I don't know what tsk means I just thought it is cute.

I've had no problems after hydro/cysto/(biopsy). I woke up in recovery with minimal discomfort, was asked to urinate, then sent home. I wasnt given any pain meds, nor did I find I needed any. Once home, I slept off the anesthesia then went to dinner with the family. There was minimal burning during urination the first couple of times; by late that night I was back to feeling 'normal'.

Hopefully you'll have an easy time with the procedure, and find that it provides you with some relief.
Wishing you well....
Diana

I have had one every 6-8 months for the last 4 years; without any problems. Woke up with some pain which the nurses gave me some medications thru my IV; also had some medication that I was able to take at home. Other than that, I had no problems. I usually have them on Thursdays stay home in bed that day- by Friday I'm usually up and about doing little things like washing, no lifting. Mondays I'm back at work. We are all different and I don't know what you do for a living- do you work? but I'm sure you will do just fine.
