OMG!! I am so sick of getting ready for this yard sale tomorrow morning. Everybody is being so great about helping out but I am already flaring. Of course I was flaring on Wednesday when I had off for the 4th so I really didn't do anything then. I think we're almost done getting everything organized and only have a few more things to price. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I sell alot of stuff. We could really use the extra money. I'll let everybody know how it goes tomorrow, everybody is going to help out manning it so at least I don't have to do it all myself, thank god for teenagers!
I hope it's profitable & not too hot:)
(At the end of the day of my parents' yardsales, my dad always starts "bundling" things together, "Hey if you want this, I'll throw this in too for a dollar more (or free)", that way they try to have nothing "re-enter" the house. My mom always gags remembering how much they paid for things, but hey they were getting rid of it anyway & this is easier than bringing it back in to haul to Goodwill on another day.)
Good luck!

HI Christine! Good luck tomorrow! After all 3 of our sales last summer we called the half way house for extended aftercare for those fighting drug abuse and alcoholism and asked if they wanted what was left over. They said YES! They use some of the stuff for the people there and the rest of it they used for their own garage sale once a summer. So you might check that out. I like to donate to worthy causes. They came after the stuff too! Roxie

Thanks guys, everything is set up out front. My MIL was nice enough to run to her bank that opens really early and get me change. The boys are actually outside manning it right now since no one has shown up yet and I am really really sore. I peed this morning and it felt like my whole pelvis was lit on fire! Ouch! And I only have 3 vicoden left!!! I'm going to call my dr's office when they open at 9am and pray that they will call me in a couple more until I can get in to see them for my next appt on Friday.
I'll post later on and give you guys an update, big money big money big money:dance:  <~~~~ Doing my yard sale dance to make the yard sale gods happy, lol

Well not good so far, nobody has bought anything BUT we're going to keep it going for awhile so we'll see. Hubby went to sell his shot gun and his little hand gun so that should get us over $100 right there.

wishing you a great yard sale and that your pain eases. You might have the pharmacy fax in a request to your dr for more pain meds. if they do it today then you follow up on monday it might go faster. good luck!

Thanks Mary,
I already called the dr's office, whoever answered the phone had no idea what I was talking about when I was talking about IC. My PCP just started handling my pain management.
The nurse or whoever I spoke to said that if I didn't hear back from them then some would be called in by the time the office closed at 12pm and it's already 11:00 so I'm hoping they'll call me in enough to last me through Friday espically because I have a DMSO appt on Thursday morning which will make it hard to make it through the day at work afterwards.

I would make sure they do call it in. check at 1130 with the pharmacy if it hasn't been called in yet call the dr back. I hope you get some pain relief soon!

how did the yard sale go? did you get pain meds?

Yard Sale went pretty crappy, only sold a couple of things. This probably was largley due to the fact that I didn't have the money to put an add in the paper.
Hubby did however get $100 for how two guns which will help out alot and we did make some at the yard sale. I think I'm going to look up second hand stores and take the rest of Griffin's clothes in there, I can at least get something for them that way and get them out of my house.
As for the pain meds I know the dr's office called in some more because I checked the automated system at the pharmacy to make sure. I have no idea how much they called in because I took a nap and had dinner so I haven't gone over there yet. Hopefully I'll be okay to get through my DMSO on Thursday and then I'll talk to my PCP more about pain management at my appt on Friday when they do my blood work and everything.

Cindy it's all your fault, your signs weren't good enough!!! :biglaugh:
I made maybe $16 still more than I had before I started. I should just get a box and send you some clothes for Jake, I'm sure you could use them.
I'm gonna go get my pain meds and more AZO at Walgreens, I'll call ya later :smile tee

That's a good idea Cindy but I don't know if me and the kids have the energy to do it again tomorrow. All of the kids are really cranky now and I don't know if I want to have them do it again tomorrow. I think I'm going to look up some consignment shops in the area to try to sell some of the stuff to.

Awww (((((Christine))))))) sounds like you could use some cyber hugs....sorry it didn't go as well as you hoped....I think it was just a bad weekend for EVERYONE....my friend baked a cake for a wedding (a gift from her) just as she was flipping the top tier onto the bottom one...the platter slipped from her hands, only to smash into tiny shards of clear glass into...oh, yes....the cake she just spent baking.....and now has to do it all over again....and the wedding was only 13 hours away....and she's pooped. And angry. She pulled it off tho, and the couple loved their cake...hoooray!
:::::sigh::::::: I'm also sorry to hear that IC had to be so yucky this weekend.....I feel for you....sending you (((((((((hugs)))))))))))

I realize I am a week late seeing this but, for future reference, I thought I would still post this tip. You can advertise yard/garage sales for free on craigslist. You can also list any other items you wish to sell and there is no fee. We had a large sale right after Memorial Day. I tried to advertise it in a weekly neighborhood newspaper, but was an hour late in submitting the ad because they had moved the deadline up by a day because of the holiday. I was so frustrated because we had worked for many weeks getting ready for this sale and needed to advertise it! It was then I remembered I could advertise it on Craigslist. Craigslist (online classified ads) is huge in major cities, but is just catching on in smaller areas. We had a very large turnout because of that ad and an extremely successful sale. After the sale, we had very little leftover and donated all the extras. However, we had a table and chairs that did not sell so I listed that set on Craigslist. It was sold within 15 minutes of posting it and I had a waiting list of people who wanted it if the 1st person to respond didn't claim it right away. I noticed a lot of people list items leftover from yard sales and are successful in selling those items through this method of free classified ads. It's also great to use if you have just a few items you want to sell, but not enough for a yard sale or simply want to avoid all the work of a sale.
I haven't been around in awhile and am sorry I didn't see this last week. Maybe this tip will help in the future.

We used Craigslist for all 3 of our yard sales last summer. It works really well! We've used it to find local repair guys also.
Here's another site.....I think my husband said it's Google's answer to Craigslist or Ebay's.....can't remember right now......but just click on the link and then put in the city, or country you want to check out the list in.....It's pretty cool! http://houston.kijiji.com/
