A couple of weeks ago, my husband, sister and I went to the grand opening of the new Dell Children's hospital in Austin. It was Awesome. We didn't see all of it- just the E/R which the rooms seem almost twice as large and the equipment and a few other things on the floor. They have a "healing room" which they had at the other hospital but it was small- there it was only 1/4 acre and the new place is 6 acres. Also got to see Rick Trevino (Country Western singer-- saw him many years when he first started singing; local guy-in fact his whole band is from the Austin area. He had his kids on stage as well has a daughter who is 6 or 7 years old and she stoled the show. (at the end of the concert (it was free-best kind!!) he said I hope you enjoyed the Elizabeth Trevino show). the concert was only supposed to be 30 minutes but it turned out to be 1-1/2 hours- we were so close that when his guitar pick broke in pieces that it fell on my shoe and I picked it up and put it in my purse. I also somehow got my husband to get his autograph (at first he didn't want to get it for me, but I told him fine if you don't then I won't pay your car payment (he said you better since I give you the money - I told him I will think of something to do with the money you give me!!) anyway he did finally and after that we left as we wanted to beat the traffic- we didn't stay for the fireworks.
