I hate to post this but maybe it can help someone else??? I had previously posted as newly diagnosed with IC months ago and was on Elmiron for over 3 months and Sanctura for about 1 month with no relief at all!:cussing: Well, I finally went in last Friday for a Laparascopy and you will not believe what it was....abdominal adhesions, or scar tissue from when I had an appendectomy almost 2 years ago. It was causing my abdominal pain and bladder pressure. I had an ultrasound done and they couldn't see my left ovary and that was because it was being pressed down by the tissue. I am so relieved :woohoo: :woohoo: I just did not have a feeling it was IC because of how quickly it came on and my symptoms didn't completely match up. Thanks for all the support you gave me! I wish you all relief from your IC symptoms!!
Take care,
Gena
I'm so glad you don't have IC and you were able treat your problem. Are you feeling better now? Hope you continue to have success!

It has been taken care of already. When I had the Laparascopy done on Friday, the cut the scar tissue out right then and there.
My symptoms included::bonk:
Bladder pressure (no pain or burning)
Abdominal pain
Lower left back pain
Ovary not visualized during ultraound
Any time you have abdominal surgery-there is actually a great chance of getting scar tissue or abdominal adhesions.
I just hope that my telling you guys can maybe help anyone who may have the same thing.

how wonderful :) I am glad you do not have IC. For this reason alone a hydro/cysto should be done before medications are prescribed. Why treat something that isn't there.

It bumms me out that I was taking drugs for something I didn't even have.:mad: I'm glad it didn't go any longer. Also-anyone taking Elmiron and Santura knows how spendy they are. I was paying $70/month for the prescriptions. :cussing:

Just curious what Santura is? I'm glad to hear you had a fixable issue! I still don't have an IC diagnosis either. I'm going back to my dr today. Did you have urethral pain ever?

Sanctura is:
Trospium chloride relieves spasms of the bladder.Trospium chloride is used to treat overactive bladder with the symptoms of urinary frequency, urinary urgency, and urinary incontinence.
They were doing a trial and error thing. No-I didn't have urthral pain-just the pressure.
Hope you find what's ailing you!:smile tee
