Pyriddium/Uristat-Okay for long term use???

I am taking Pyriddium (Its also called Uristat or AZO standard over the counter), and I often take it three times a day. I've been doing this for a little over a year. 2 different doctors said it was fine to take so often and there isn't any harm long term. However, I read on a thread here that it is not good to take long term. Does anyone have any input on this subject?? Thank you for your response.:smile tee

I have been taking pyridium for a long time sometimes three an day but less if I can do without. As far as I know threy have helped more than hurt. I have been on these type of meds for approx. 35 yrs. and I got sick on my stomach at first and was told to eat with them. The sickness went away after a while. I hope this helps.

my mom has taken them about the same lenght of time as she needed too. I cannot take them. I do take urised. I take one a day no matter what, and up to 4 at big flair times.

I used to take uristat before I was dxd and I was on that for like 1 year. I was taking like 4 a day if not more b/c i was in so much pain. The only thing i found was I began to build up a tolerence to it and it no longer took the pain away.
