I introduced myself last week and things are no better. In fact, they are worse. I finished my antibiotic this morning and figured that my bladder just needs time to recover. I am still peeing 50+ times a day right now. This afternoon I noticed the water was pink in the toilet and thought it was odd. The next time I went, I watched the stream of pee and it was quite bloody. I have an two appointments tomorrow. One is with a urologist regarding possible lithotripsy for a kidney stone. The other is with my urogyn, in case the uro thinks I need to see her regarding the blood. I was thinking it could be stone related but maybe not. The urogyn was pretty concerned. Any ideas? Tomorrow is still more than 12 hours away. I don't sleep well when I am worrying. It pretty much looks like it did after my cystoscopy and biopsy on 6/18. I was not seeing blood by the end of the next day........

did you have a procedure done? You may have a bladder infection, or a very bad flair. If you have pain pills take them, you can try a hot bath, heating pad or ice for comfort. let us know what the doc says tomorrow.

It has been 2 weeks since the cysto/biopsy was done. I saw my urogyn Friday because of the frequency-45+ times a day at that point. She did find that I had an infection and put me on antibiotics for 3 days. I just finished that this morning. Pain is never really a huge issue for me. I have a high tolerance for pain (I was 9cm when I got to the hospital to deliver my youngest and was so calm that the nurses were moving slow until the doctor checked me.......) so I am not a good judge of pain. I do have burning to some degree still and of course the frequency (I logged it yeesterday at 50 times....) I am hoping to get an answer tomorrow. Just hate the waiting game. I had a bladder mass that the doctor said not to worry about. How was I supposed to not worry about an unknown mass in ym bladder? I didn't sleep for a couple of weeks. Now that I got a negative biopsy and negative results on the cytology and CT scan I can relax a little. Then I start peeing more than ever. My normal is probably 20-25 times a day.

I am guessing you have ic then. to me it sounds like you are in a bad flair. It is going to take a while for your bladder to get better after a hydro. Donna had one June 14th and is feeling a bit better, she posted that in another post. I am not hydro friendly so I can't help you too much on that. The waiting game is the hardest part, but glad that the mass was nothing for you to worry about.

The doctor wants to do the PST to confirm the diagnosis but will not do it until my bladder has had time to recover from all that has been happening recently. She gave me a presciription for macrodantin to take for 3 months and then I am to go back to see her for the PST. But, I will be seeing her tomorrow........ Thanks for the help and support!

my3boy...your situation sounds very similar to mine. I had a hydrodistention on june 15 and peed blood for about a week after that. The biopsy, CT and MRI were negative (I'm so thankful about that). I figured the blood was from the surgery, biopsy etc. and the uro insisted it was OK. It did resolve after a week, but I am still peeing easily 40 times a day, constant urgency along with the frequency and it is driving me out of my mind. I'm not able to leave the house. In the past I have had kidney stones and while that was ruled out this time, they have given me bloody urine before and caused lots of frequency. Once the stones were removed (4 separate surgeries), the blood and frequency let up. This time, no stone and pathology normal (thank goodness), but STILL the incessant, unrelenting, mind blowing frequency and pressure goes on and on. I can't get relief or help. The blood in your urine makes me wonder about a stone and you did mention they discussed lithotripsy. so did they actually see a stone? Do they think they missed it on CT or MRI. I don't understand why they are talking litho if they aren't sure about stones.

Renal ultrasound showed calcification in my left kidney. CT scan showed it was a stone. I though the urogyn told me it was 5mm but the receptionist looked at me like I was wrong and it had to 5 cm. I will find out the correct info today at my appointment with the uro. I was referred to him by my urogyn to discuss lithotripsy to break up the stone. At times it appears that there is very little blood. Other times I go and would swear that there is only blood. There have been a few small clots as well.

my3boy, I do hope and pray this is a stone because when I had my first stone relieved, I had bloody urine and the constant urge to pee along with the incessant peeing. I was desperate, (feeling much as I do now), but being assured that the likely culprit was the stone, I was happy to go to surgery with prayers that the answer lay in the removal of the stone. It did. They scared me to pieces first with all the kidney cancer rule outs, utlrasounds, CT and MRI's. Questionalble findings at first which turned out to be cysts (I have polycystic kidneys to top it off). The bottom line is that the stone WAS the problem and its removal stopped the incessant urging to pee and that was good enough for me. I hope and pray you have the same problem with as successful a result and, most importantly.....relief. Hopes and prayers coming your way. nogo

Well, just like taking the car in because you hear a noise only to not hear the noise when the mechanic gets to it, I had only microscopic blood in the urine at the doctor's office this morning. He said no infection was present and had no concerns. As far as the stone goes, he is sending me for an x-ray to seee if it can be seen. If it can, we will schedule the lithotripsy. If not, I iwll have to wait to schedule a procedure where he can remove it with a laser. He doesn't want to do it that way if he doesn't have to and he won't do it that way if needed until at least September since my peeing is so bad right now. I have no pain that would indicate anything much with the stone. It was actually an incidental finding on the ultrasound and was followed by the CT. I'm heading out for hte x-ray this afternoon so that I can get an answer by the end of the week. Thanks for the encouragement. It means a lot. My husband is wonderful but he really doesn't understand what this is like for me. It's a good thing his office is about 15 minutes from our house. I am able to make it one of my bathroom stops on the hour drive to the doctors...

At least they are making inroads into your problem and trying hard to sort it out. I just wish there was something they could do to help you with the chronic peeing in between. I know I am always so hopeful when they are at least running tests and TRYING to sort out the problem. But the peeing. There must be something they can do to help that. I am in the same boat right now and have been for a couple of weeks. It drives me crazy when they say they'll check back with me in a couple of weeks or so. How would they like it if they had to see patients all day after drinking 5 quarts of water........but no pee breaks allowed for them. Maybe then they would work a bit harder to help with our comfort level. I pray you get some definitive answers. Let us know.
