Can anyone recommend a good V.V. friendly pad? I use Always and for about the past year they have been KILLING me. It hurts to pee, hurts to sit, all the good stuff. It hurts for a few days after, too.
I think it's the pads. It's either the hormones of a period making a V.V. flare up or it's the pads, but since the latter would be easier to debunk or fix, I'd like to try that first.
So help! What do you all use?

Since I had a hysto many years ago, I don't use pads, but you might check with Jill --- I know there are some available that don't have deodorants and chemicals.

Natracare makes pads & pantiliners that are natural. I ordered them from drugstore.com, but I think you may be able to get them in health food stores. Always cause the most problems, from what I've read.

Thank you so much for the heads up. I will be switching brands ASAP!
I can't tolerate Always pads, but find Kotex works great for me. I get the ultrathin maxis for daily use (minor leakage), the long supers & overnights for period use. It's good to change them frequently, also helps prevent irritation.
I tried the Natracare ones & the Seventh Generation pads, but for me, they did not absorb well & tended to bunch up in awkward places.
But, everyone's different & I've heard some women are really happy with the Natracare ones.
Good luck! Just buy small packages til you find what works for you:)

Kadi,
I am so glad you replied. Our area is small and rural and I cannot find the NatraCare anywhere...and online they seem a little pricey. I get very heavy periods and need to change pads frequently, so 12 in a package for $5 isn't too good for me! I'll give the Kotex a try. Something's gotta work and be better than Always!

I had the same problems with Always and decided to try the Kotex. It made such a difference and really the price isn't too much different that what Always was!

The Naturapads bunched up and got lumpy so I quit using them. I also use Kotex brand without any problems. Always gave me a very sore vulvar area.
Carefree seems to be OK.
For mild bladder leaks Serenity ultra thin light works well without irritation.
