I use lidocaine, heperin, and saline. There are a few different concoctions that doctors use. This is the only one that seemed to help me the best, and not cause bad side effects.

Hey ladies,

AS most of you know by now I do not live where there are a large number of ic docs. to chose from. I am in year 30 plus with ic and have just started hearing about the rescue instills since I joined this board. Please tell me how they are done. Are they painful. What is the best cocktail to put in them, and will medicare pay for them. Do they really help and with what do they help. Are they for pain. freauency. burning or what. I love you all and really would appreciate these answers. I know it is a lot of questions but if it will cut down on pain and pills, I am game. Thanks in advance.

Right now I'm only doing Marcaine at home. It helps for a little while. One less pain pill I have to take for a couple hrs. :)

Katrina~I just noticed what you said about others having a problem with Sodium Bicarb...I thought I was the only one. Everyone keeps telling me that it can't be it. I've tried many diff. installs and the ones w/o Sodium Bicarb are the only ones that don't make feel like ER pain. I don't get it???
