After living with IC for 24 years and a host of other autoimmune illnesses I thought my daughters had escaped the rough life I had. My daughter just had MRI results. She has lesions suggestive of MS. She is 25 years old.

Ginny......so sorry to hear of the possible MS diagnosis for your daughter. On a more positive note, perhaps the Dr's have caught it in early onset and your daughter will respond positively to treatment.
MS is such a scary thing to hear. I know 3 people personally who are living with this disease; through them I've learned that having a positive outlook works wonders.
Hang in there, dear.
Sending lots of positive thoughts your daughters way.

I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter might have MS. I agree with Diana maybe they are catching it early and that will mean early treatment. Keep us posted.

I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter is going through a rough time. Diana is right, it sounds like they caught it early and she can get treatment going. That is a positive thing, but it's a scary diagnosis and it's always difficult watching your child suffer.
Oh no. :frown: I sure hope that's not what it is. :kissing:

Thanks guys. I am so upset. She has the symptoms. They are tolerable and the doctor said it might not ever get any worse. It's just the thought of a chronic illness. I thought I had enough for the entire family.
Ginny
I bet it's just that much harder when it's your child and you can't make it better. :(

I do understand how difficult it is to see your child (even an adult child) with a disease. I'm so very sorry --- I hope early treatment helps her do well. There have been so many strides in the treatment of MS in recent years and that gives hope.
Warm hugs,
Donna

I'm sorry to hear about this. My cousin, who is near 50, received her MS diagnosis last year after about fifteen years of health problems. Her doctors never considered MS and, once they did, it all made sense. So, as another person said here, it's great that they caught it early when many therapies have their best success rates.
Sending prayers your way!!! - Jill
BTW.. We have no MS in our family which made my cousins diagnosis strange. But, she hadn't ever met her fathers other children due to a famly dispute between her parents decades ago. The doc suggested that she find them. When she did, she found four new half siblings, each of which share her faith and approach to life. It was AMAZING!! She also found that one of her sisters has MS as well. What's great about this... is that not only does she have a whole new family that she loves... but she has a great support system too! If they hadn't found the MS, she would have never found her siblings.

Hi _ I am sorry to hear. I fear for my daughter because she is always tired and don't know why. I DO know that she had mono before and didn't get enough Vit. D. and those are risk factors. So maybe Vitamin D can help. Talk to doc. Good luck to your daughter.
