My nurse gave me some information about Cell Cept the other day and I was wondering if anyone else has heard about it. It is currently going through clinical research for IC patients with severe forms of IC.

I have heard of cellcept because of studies regarding a solid organ transplant, so you might want to do a search with words involving tansplants.

Rxlist.com is a great place to look at the exact information/def. of a drug (I have used this website a lot in past seven years. It has been a real lifesaver when my docs don't know how to prescribe the meds and general info. Please don't panic when reading the side effect and put them in the proper prospective. When reading the side effect list compare the actual med to the placebo along with the percentages. This is an immuno-suppression drug so it should be taken as one of the last resorts. It suppresses you immune system and has many side effect, but if the risks out weight the benefits, it may be worth it. I have been going thru this thought process for few years. The immuno suppression meds have become better and better. It used to be steriods which are terrible, now there are multiple choices. They are very expensive drugs.)

Here is the link to the University of Minnesota Fairview's Transplant Center. Maybe it will give you some ideas and show the meds they are using.
