Hi, i'm 3 years new to ic but what a rough ride its been! i went from working full time w/health ins to permanent part time w/out health ins. i have ins quotes out,but can't afford them anyway. my parents will pay for this months cobra-$430.00. with my new hours i'll get about 20-25 hours, considering i'm there! i've been sick more days then i worked. i have a phone interview w/ social security in 2 weeks. and applying for food stamps through them. hopefully they will insure me. foed anyone have ANY advise 4 me? does anyone know how many hours you must be below to qualify for anything? do they give ins?(medicare, cuz i'm only 29)so far i've gotten applications from drug co manafactures 4 my doc 2 fill out. also i have an interstim device and my dr said they don't think they can "legally" stop seeing me as a patient cuz i lost my ins. i am so afraid, without ins i won't be able 2 work any hours, i'll be so sick. all my hospital bills have gone to collection,2 months late on rent, etc. and am in extreme pain on a daily basis. anyone knowing of any ideas or groups to help anything is appreciated.

You might check to see what you would be eligible for in the way of assistance through your state. You may also be eligible for health care through a state program.

Social security may take a while so I do suggest you look at some alternatives in the meantime.

Warm hugs,
Donna
