Tuesday night, my phone wrang that my god son/nephew had been in a severe car wreck. He had hydroplaned and then skid 177ft then went over a 20 foot embankment, rolled several times and landed upside down in the river. There were 5 kids all were hospitalized with minor injuries Thank goodness. I was a nervous wreck until he got homw last night and then when I got to see the car today just about lost it. I have a daughter who will drive in a year and took her up to see the car and so she could see what driving to fast for road conditions and possibily goofing around could have done to them.

Thank God they are survive and are well. Seeing the car damage do send a chill through you. I know it sends a reminder how close it was of lossing them. Hope you are feeling alittle calmer now.
Take care, Trishann

Someone was surely looking after those kids, no doubt! Thank goodness all escaped with just minor injuries.
I believe you did the right thing by taking your daughter to see what can come out of acting foolishly/not paying attention/etc when in control of a 2000+ lb weapon.
Its so scary when your child starts driving, thats for sure. My son got his learners permit in Feb 06, and his license in November-what a scary time!

That is so terrifying! That is something that will stay with your nephew forever, too. I lost control of my SUV on an icy road in 2002 and flipped a couple of times and would've gone down an embankment if it hadn't been for a patch of trees that stopped the SUV from rolling. I am still terrified of driving.
I am so glad he and his friends are okay. It's the worst call to get...

From the looks of the car, it is a miracle that all escaped without some serious injuries. Whew!!!!!! I am assuming they were all wearing their seatbelts?

Leslie,
Sorry I didn't post sooner--we have talked about this accident on the phone so often I forgot to post my prayers here too. You can't have too many. My brother looked at the other pics and showed them to their accident investigator on their task force and I have some info to share with ya when you're not too busy. I guess that be when no one is fighting, slamming doors or demanding food. LOL!:lmao: Lindsey has been back 3 days and she did learn how to demand while with Dad(age appropriate demanding):help: Many prayers headed for all the kiddos involved in that horrific accident.
Love,
Barb
PS: Excuse my typos. Very tired from chasing after the Boo Bear. Good reason to be tired.:biglaugh: :D  :flower:

Thanks everyone, he is having some more trouble. He is having further testing this week, MRI's he just had an emergency CT scan for undiscovered blood in his ear. We are waiting on all these results. He can['t move the shoulder that was pinned by the roof of the car very well without pain meds and then it is limited movement. SO hopefully the MRI will answer some unanswered ?'s. Being an ex insurance agent I did convince his mom to get an attorney just because I know how they are going to try to get this over with as quick as possible and until he is well I don't want her signing or talking to them unrepresented. I will keep you posted as to how his tests come out and thanks for the prayers.
