Hi All,

:help: I was wondering if anyone has found IC Friendly products at Trader Joe's? I have seen that name listed before and I found out that there is a few located near where we will be going on vacation next month, so I wanted to see if anyone has bought anything from them, and then try to get to a store and buy some things. If anyone has found IC Friendly foods there, if you don't mind, ccould you please list the items?
Thank You,
Kim

I love love love Trader Joe's...

Here are a few of my favorite (TJ's) things...
Bread section:
Trader Joe Shepherd's Bread
Trader Joe mini bagels (plain)
Trader Joe mini pita breads (plain)
Trader Joe blueberry scones (also freeze well)
Trader Joe Lavash bread (makes excellent wrap sandwiches)
Trader Joe Cinnamon Raisin bread (thin slice one only, thick slice one has soy in it)
Trader Joe's oatmeal raisin cookies in the tray, not the bag. (bag ones have ingredients I'm allergic to)
Trader Joe's Truly Handmade Tortillas (be careful to get the ones that are just flour & water!)

Treats:
Vanilla meringue cookies
Fat Free Caramel popcorn
Light popcorn
Mini Rounds Tortilla chips (check the ingredients to make sure no lime juice!)
Inka chips (roasted plantain chips)

Dairy
Organic milk
Extra Omega 3 eggs
Rice pudding

Freezer section:
Frozen blueberries
Brown rice (comes in a freezer box of 3 packets) - 3 minutes in the microwave & voila! yummy brown rice!
Double Rainbow blueberry ice cream

Fruits/Veggies
Trays of zucchini
bags of spinach
bags of cauliflower
4 packs of pears
Trays of bell peppers
Mushrooms
If you can tolerate Asian pears, they are very inexpensive at TJ's
Salad for One or Two-romaine or baby greens

Other
Pizza dough (regular one only, the one with no acids) - I use this to make pizza with a spinach sauce instead of tomato OR calzones! Yum.

Some IC patients can tolerate plain peppermint tea & some plain chamomile tea. Trader Joe also has a low acid coffee (not decaf, so have not tried it myself-my bladder hates caffeine).

I LOVE their french vanilla liquid hand soap.

Have a fun time shopping!

Hey, we shop there frequently some of these items I can not tolerate but buy for my family because they include minimal ingredients. I buy my cream cheese (Trader Joe Brand) there (no preservatives), almond butter (really cheap -- well for almond butter), syrup, string cheese, gorilla much cereal, organic eggs and milk, bread (Trader Joe's brand has 5 ingredients let me know if your interested and I'll get them for you), some fruits and vegetables, Kettle chips, Carrot Juice, frozen pizza (same thing, minimal ingredients although I still can't tolerate them), frozen fish (halibut, mahi mahi and salmon...mm, mm), goat cheese, goat milk, raw almonds (also cheaper than most stores), canned beans (pinto and black) with out anything else in them, normal butter if you have any questions let me know. I find that Trader Joe's is the cheapest but we have been happy with most of our food there.

This is good to know, I also go to Trader Joes from time to time. It's about 20 minutes from my house so I don't go to frequently. I'm going on vacation soon and there is a Whole Foods there. I'm assuming they have good stuff there too.

Whole Foods is very good also, but a lot more expensive. One thing I get there is Looza brand pear juice (no other juices or added vit C in it). I also get some of the Nature's Path cereals there (Raisin bran with flax, Oatbran flakes), Peace brand golden honey granola, Oatios.

Kadi-
You rock with your food suggestions. We don't have a trader joe's here...it's about 1 1/2 hours away. But, your list makes me want to get in the car and drive there just to grocery shop.

I love their cereals especially the Vanilla Almond Crunch. We had their turkey hot dogs last night and we buy their precooked Italian style chicken sausage regularly. They taste spicy but haven't bothered me yet! Very yummy. I also do well with their humus even though it has lemon juice in it. Guess it's not enough to bother me. Almost forgot they have nitrite/nitrate free bacon. Lots of yummy safe food at Trader Joes!
