I hate IC!!!:toilet: My parents came to visit from Baltimore yesterday. Because my dad is a big pain in the butt that can usually cause a flare for me all on it's own. Then I usually do some extra cleaning and stuff.
Anywho, I woke up this morning with my lower back KILLING me!:cussing: Then I got up and started moving and realized my bladder was going crazy it seems from the sore back!
I missed work last Monday because I flared last Sunday night and couldn't sleep at all. I am soooo worried that I'm going to flare all day today and feel like crap tomorrow because I really can't afford to miss work again tomorrow because when I miss work now I don't get paid.:tsk:
I had to take a vicoden just so that I could go to the grocery store to get the rest of my shopping done, I don't usually like to take it and then drive but if I didn't I would have never made it there in back w/o crying. I hate this crap. I guess I'm going to lay on the couch all day with the heating pad going back and forth between my back and bladder trying to calm this flare down.

Oh sure Ronda, I'm flaring but I'm on my vicoden so I'm kinda loopy, lol, I don't mind explaining.
FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) is basically a federal law that says that a company of a certain size (has to have at least a certain # of employees, really small companies can be excluded) is required to give an employee up to 12 weeks off of unpaid time in a 12 month time period for their own medical condition or to treat a family member, spouse, child parent. Basically they don't have to pay you if you don't have paid time off left which I don't, but it protects your job. They can't fire me for missing work because of my IC, if I miss work for something else, like hubby being sick then technically they could fire me for that. My uro filled out paperwork that said I could need time off for flares and for dr appts. I hope this makes sense, I am really out of it, if not just ask and I'll try to explain it better.

Thanks for the hugs everybody, I'm not feeling as bad as I did when I woke up. I'm hoping if I take it easy the rest of the day I'll be okay. I'm trying to wait as long as I can before I take another vicoden because I want to make them last!

HI Christine! We just got home and I just saw your post. My dad causes my bladder to flare and causes my IBS to go crazy! So I can totally relate!
Glad you are feeling a little better now and can go to work tomorrow. I've been on the FLMA for the past 5 weeks of school. (now I'm off the Leave till school starts again) I'm hoping I feel good enough to return to work when school starts because my pay check is very low right now.......ugh!!!
Take care Christine and don't over do this week. Roxie

Well I made it to work this morning. My back was killing me again by the time I went to bed last night. I feel really tired this morning and I have only "heard" from my bladder a couple of times this morning but I have a bad feeling that it's going to speak up and get angry very shortly. At least I dragged my butt in here so even if I leave early I still get some pay for the day.:toilet:

Good Morning Christine!
Glad you were able to make it to work......I'm sure it's difficult being there with back pain. I hope your bladder doesn't cause too many problems for you today......do you take Azo with you to work? When I feel a twinge and I'm out and about I always take a cpl Azo and that gets me through....even tho it stains your underwear! LOL I hope your day goes quickly with no big problems! Take care Christine! Roxie

Thanks Cindy and Roxie. Actually I stopped taking the AZO because I was taking it all the time and started Urelle. I still can't decide if I like it or not, I think it helps a little. I'm here, thank goodness I have a desk job. I have the heating pad out and I'm making it through. I'm getting frustrated though because my urgency is going through the roof and I haven't even had that much to drink today! After my last potty break my bladder started to spasm. This is my early week and I get to leave at 4:30 so hopefully I can hang in there. Have a good day ladies!

Hey girl! Glad you have the heating pad there!
Have you tried Freeze Dried Aloe Vera? It really helps your bladder....coats it and helps it build up a new lining like Elmiron only naturally. It might really help you! I've been using it for 3 yrs now and love the stuff!
Take care.......soon it'll be your lunch time....take your lunch to the car, turn on the radio and relax for 30 min or so.......that might help! Roxie
