Applying for Disability through work !

I am looking for someone who can reply. You would be a white collar business professsional who has gone out on disability using either:
1. Long Term Disability Policy at work
2. Personal Individual Disability Policy

I am on the verge of filing a claim and was wondering how symptomatic the average man is who goes out on claim.

Also want to know whether the claim was rejected at first. Did you use an attorney to help you file a claim?
