Buttermilk?

can most icers have buttermilk? if not why would it affect us? thanx

Buttermilk is a problem for some ICers. It's on the "may be ok" list.

I think the reason why it could be okay, but also could not, might have to do with the way it is made nowadays. I'm in no way an expert, this is just my guess. Buttermilk used to be the liquid left over from making butter using full cream milk. This buttermilk is usually thin and slightly sour. Today, most brands are made by adding lactic acid bacteria to plain milk, this is known as "cultured buttermilk", just like yogurt is cultured, and is usually thick and tart. Just a guess.
