What gives?

All of a sudden, I start getting flare like symptoms and now it's like REALLY bad.

My right flank has always had a dull pain that didn't bother me much. Sometimes it would get sharp and then it would burn when I peed ect.

Now: it burns liie FIRE when I pee, I feel like my bladder is always full (plus urgency), a little frequency (more at night), flank pain, and my urethra feels as it there is a Q-Tip in it (very chafed feeling), my urine goes from almost clear to orangie and has taken on a wee bit of a foul odor.

I havn't had this kind of pain in a LOOOOONG time.

Nothing has really changed. So I am stumped. I took a Tramadol and I'm stoned as hell but still in pain. I wroked for one round of voiding (was pain free) but now it's back to the pee of fire.

Anyways, any body have any thoughts??? If it doesn't get better in a week or so I guess I am going to have to go to the urologist.

sorry that you're flaring. I know the experience well...feeling good and then...WHAM a big ol' flare. it's scary but you will get through it. Have you thought of being tested for a uti? Have you eaten anything that could have flared you? Take care of yourself.

I havn't eaten anything new or different. But it still might have been something I ate. The only real new thing was I havn't been drinking a lot of liquid.

Normaly when I am tested for a UTI there is tons of protien and biliruben but no sign of infection. The only times I tested poitive for a UTI was after my cyto and potassium test (I had 4 in a row). And that was almost 2 years ago. I am thinking of investing in those home test strips, that way I don't have to haul my behind to the uro or my primary every time this happens.

I was like this yesterday. My whole body burning too. It was so scary. Then today, nothing. Worried because today seems like maybe it's coming back.
This disease is a nightmare.
The Topamax has been a dream, but not predictable enough yet.

Yeah, I am going today for a urine dip test thing.

It's odd because it will burn ect at random. The only thing that makes a difference is if I eat and drink NOTHING. Which I know is bad so I try to drink plenty of water and eat things that are liquid or bland (soup, chicken, cherios). I have also been having tummy truoble (which makes me think maybe that's agravating my bladder). Hurts like a son of a gun about 15 minutes to an hour after I eat. Then I get sick (vomit and the other end). It's like a gnawing feeling right above my bellybutton and just below my ribs.

Anyway, I'll let you know how the dip goes (probably nothing)

I will, however, ask for pyridium (or its equivalent) because I have my SATs tomarrow and can't have it burn. Gosh I loath sitting for 6 hours. And the pottys at the shcool where I take it have that toilet paper that is individual 4x4 squares. So I'll bring my own travel TP. Hide it in my pants or something :-P

Ahh...it may be stress. If you are worried about the SATs, that might be causing the flare. Stress is a huge trigger for me.

Just got back from my primary doctor.

She diped my urine (nothing showed up) but is going to send it out for a culture anyways.

She also poked around my kidney area and my stomach. Based on my "ouches" she is sending me for an ultrasound of my bladder an kidneys. Apparently I have pain where I shouldn't.

Either way. She told me also to try and take one Ditropan XL before bedtime. And see if that works for the spasms (or what she assumes to be spasms).
