Hi Everyone,
Well I am feeling a bit better today often then having to drive back to Toronto to have my pacemaker turn on and it is working great too ..
Cindy I have my new remote, it is just that he did not have time to turn the pacemaker on yesterday after surgery...
I have the same setting and everything is running good ...
I only gone twice to pee since it has been on so it is working , hurrayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!
My throat is so sore today from the tube and I could hardy talk so he was making fun of me about that ...
Also the two interns that were in the surgery with me came to see me and we laughing about what it is like having my whole butt checks area showing , they just said that they were use to it and could not compare any of them to others..........yea I bet , lol.lol :lmao:
So I am in pain so can't sit long ,just glad that I am up and running again !!!

Hi Sandra;
I had my surgery done at Toronto Western Hospital , that is the only place in Toronto that does the InterStim Implant .
Well I am just resting today and not doing much at all, still in lots of pain but just love that I can drink all that I want and not have to pee all the time ...
That is so a wonderful blessing ...
Also Leslie, yes I guess I am the an ole pro at this, having this over eight years , I could not live with out it and I don't mind having the surgery as of the wonderful success I have had with the InterStim ...even if this is my third surgery at that ....

welcome back, glad you are up and buzzing again :biglaugh:
how do you like your new remote? I go in on the 6th for the other 3 programs. I was supposed to go yesterday, but, I wasn't feeling well and neither was jake. I didn't want to and rush them so I could just get out and go hme.

I'm so glad your ok! I'm home now too. My pacemaker works even better than the trial. I hardly feel it anymore(the stimulation) I'm quite sore, but I think I will leave work early today! I am so glad we all got through this in one piece. It is such a miracle!:woohoo:

Hi tacy99;
He put me on Ratio-Lenoletec #3 codeine 30 mg, other words Tylenol with codeine which I am one not to take pain meds , I only used it if I really need them as I can tolerate the pain really good ...
I am also on Cephalexin 500 mg

Hi Debbie,
I'm so happy for you. Sounds so cool that you just kind of picked up from where you left off before the battery went. Like you, I've said it before but going through the surgery was well worth it. A few weeks of pain is no sweat compared to the daily bladder issues before. I wondered if they put you on the antibiotic- i see he did. I think your pain threshold is better than mine. i had been on tylenol #2 i think but they didn't help at all. Indomethacin was the magic pill for me but i didn't get groggy on it like the tylenol #2.
You know what is crazy, I'm looking forward to the surgery more than the period of time when my neurostimulator battery dies and I'm waiting for a new one.
Keep taking care of yourself. Deb, i don't know about you but to my knowledge, there were no interns who did the surgery- i never saw another doc except the anesthesiologist (there was an emergency so my surgery was delayed like 7hrs or so). Dr. H took some great care in the stitching. Early on, i got some compliments on my scar- they asked me if i had a plastic surgeon. As far as i know, it was just Dr. H but he made sure that i still had a sexy bum. :lmao:

Hi Chantal;
Thanks for your kind words, yes it is like nothing happen to me at all other then a bump in the road for like six months ..
I am feeling a lot better today , I am still sore and stiff but that is part of the healing process..
I know there were no interns in when I had the procedure done in 2001 but now he has two working with him it is good to know that others are learning this procedure as I know Dr. H will have to have some one replace him some day and I hope it is not for a long time he is such a wonderful doctor ..
