I was wondering if any of you know or have tested your urine ph? The reason I am asking and forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong forum, but I have had burning with urination most every time I urinate for about 9 months now. I saw a urologist around 8 months ago who said they didn't find anything in my urine, no infection and no bacteria grew and he said he wasn't sure what was causing it - did not do cysto. A few weeks after that, when I still had the burning I talked to his nurse who said this burning could be caused by IC or it might just be my own body how it is. I have seen gynocologist who tested me for every disease as well. Well I do have an appointment in June to see a different urologist and maybe get cysto. But until recently, I was wondering if my urine is just to acidic or alkaline? I did test strips and when I get the burning I'd test it and it would read on the "acidic" side 6.0 ph. However, when I did a search on the internet, it contradicts saying that if your body/urine is too alkaline you get burning with urination. Then they said to drink cranberry juice to acidify it and relieve the burning. Well if I drink cranberry juice it feels as if someone lights a fire through my urethra while urinating. I eat mostly acidic ash foods thought. Does anyone out there possibly know which can cause burning with urination - acid or alkaline urine?
