I was just wondering if any of the ladies on this board ever had a flare after using a condom? To make a long story short, I had a recent miscarrage( 3 weeks ago) and was told to wait a few months to try again and we used a condom last night and now I have a flare! This has been the first one I have had in about 4 months. I took a home uti test and it came back negative and the only thing that I can think of that could have caused it was the condom.

Does anyone else have this problem? Sorry for getting personal but I figured this would be the best place to ask.

I haven't used condoms since I was diagnoised with IC, I'm on birth control pills. Most of the time sex itself can cause a flare for me and I think most other ICer's. Maybe it was just the sex itself. I had chili yesterday (big no no) then had sex that night, my bladder was not happy with me.

What do you take when your bladder acts up. I take tagament but it doesn't seem to help.

I have Urelle for bladder spasms and discomfort. If I'm actually having pain my uro usually calls me in some vicoden, I'm almost out though, ugh. I also use a heating pad

I usually drink extra water and take either a pyridum or one of the over the counter pills like csytex for the pain.
My flare is better today and I got the lab at the hospital where I work to do another urine test on me and it came back normal. so It must have been the condom.

It could be the spermacide in the the condom. you may also be latex sensitive. If you used the trojan brand that right there might be the problem. We made the huge mistake and bought one of there lubs and I flared instantly.

taking an anti spas med will help, when I am hurting, I automatically take 2 urised.
