This really sucks! :cussing: EVERYBODY in my house is sick (excpet for me, I finally got better after starting my Z-Pack). Hubby has a 101.2 fever, has the severe sore throat and he has really bad problems with his ears so his ear is killing him as well. Waiting on a call back from the dr for him to see if they will just call in a Z-Pack for him because it seems to be the same thing and they're only open until noon today.
Griffin still has the red dots on his face. Some have gotten bigger, popped and now have scabs on them that he keeps on picking at. He hasn't had a fever in days though but this morning woke up with another one, 101.6. Gave him some children's Motrin and it seems to have come down really fast and he's in better spirts but he has more yellow snot coming out of his nose than I ever knew was possible for a 2 1/2 year old.
Gage (15 year old step son) had to leave school early yesterday because he had a sore throat, has a low grade fever 99.something I don't remember, lol but he's not feeling nearly as crappy as his dad yet.
Logan (17 year old step son) says his stomach hurts and has a 100.2 temp I think. We were all supposed to go to an art show at the school today that he has art work in but he's sick and everybody else is too.
Thank goodness I'm better or there is no way I would be able to handle all of this. I have a feeling I'm going to be flaring by the end of the day though from all of this stress. Gosh being a mom can be fun sometimes :bonk:

OH NO! Please remeber to take care of yourself as well during this tough time! THose motherly instincts kick in and sometimes ourselvs get neglected. I'm happy the z-pack is working for you, it is quite a miracle for me when i'm sick! :smile tee I will say a prayer for you and your family. I hope you all feel better soon. Oh, does griffin have the pox? I missed the post if you said that already. Not to be mean, but if he does its good that he got them this young!

Thanks everyone for the hugs. This is going to be a horrible weekend. How I love my hubby but man I thought I was a baby when I am sick, wow is all I'm going to say about the way he is acting, lol. Thank goodness the dr's office just called back and said they just called in a Z-Pack for him as well.
Erika: It would appear that Griffin does in fact have the chicken pox, when I saw the dr on Thursday he told me that if I felt he had them then he probably did.
Here's some pics of my little guy

The first one was taken Wednesday night and the second one was just taken this morning. You can see the one on his chin has changed. I really think he just got a mild cause of them because he had the vaccine.
I usually get shopping done on Saturday's but I guess I'm not going anywhere, can't take Griffin out the way he is but if I leave him here he will scream his bloody head off until I get back. When he's not feeling well nobody will do but mommy.

I got the pox twice as a kid. the first time just a few patches like griffin, then the second time it was full blown! At least its a mild case! They do look like they must itch like crazy, poor little guy.:(

They don't seem to bother him too much, the one on his chin and the one right under his lower lip are the two that are bugging him the most and he keeps on picking at them. I have to keep on slapping his hands away from them.

Yes Christine that looks like the pox... Poor child..So everyone is sick that really sucks.. Good thing you are feeling better.. I know you need a break.I am hurting really bad today.. I had 2 weeks of no pain, guess I should be thankful for that.. Life is so hard with this disease.. Sending you hugs...

That sucks that you're feeling bad today Ronda. Sometimes I almost think it's harder to feel better for a length of time and then for the pain to come back. You start to hope it's not going to come back and you almost adjust to it when you're in pain everyday as opposed to having a break from it and then it hits you out of nowhere. Hope you feel better soon.
Wishing everyone a quick recovery.

Chicken Pox is the pits. Please try to keep him from picking them or scratching them. I had Pox when I was little (some 50 years ago) and I have a scar between my eyes from scratching it. If I remember right, putting some oatmeal in bath water helped relieve the itch for awhile. I also seem to remember something pink that you can put on the sores to help stop the itch. Sorry...Wish I could remember what that might be. Maybe it's like what you put on Poison Ivy sores.
Interesting fact about childhood diseases that long ago. Whenever a kid would come down with Chicken Pox or Mumps, other kids would be invited over so they would be exposed and get it over with. :loco:
(((Hugs))) to all of you. It is tough when everyone is sick all at once.

Thanks for the advise Sharon. We have the pink lotion but they're not actually itching him really. I think he knows the big one on his chin is there and he just keeps on messing with it. I'm trying to keep him away from it. He seems to be sleepy again because he doesn't feel well so I think he's going to take another nap.

Calomine lotion and yes, our parents were smart to just get it over with. Now we have shots for everything which is ridiculous because it weakens our immune systems. *sigh* (pet peeve alert)
I was thinking they didn't look like pox honestly. Does he have them on his hands and feet? Or on his belly and butt and back?
If on his hands and feet along with his face and mouth, it's foot and mouth disease. If it's on his belly, back, and butt, along with his face, then it's chicken pox.
Especially if he was vaccinated he shouldn't have the pox. It's not likely.
Hope he gets better soon. :)
Sorry there is so much sickness going around.
BTW, what's a Z-Pack?

Z-Pack is an antibiotic. You take 2 pills the first day and then 1 pill for four days after that. It really knows the infection out. I took the first two pills Thursday and the second one yesterday and by yesterday afternoon I was feeling MUCH better. Today I pretty much feel like I wasn't sick at all. Great stuff
