I'm setting up a hearing for my appeal, and I have the congressmen putting a flag in the case of congressional interest, the senator is writing on my behalf to the administrative law judge, and I have two uros so far writing letters that my IC is in a severe stage and I can't work because of the pain. Is this enough you think? Or should I take more steps? I need help. We are getting a lawyer also. I found out that none of my doctors were ever contacted for my case...is that normal?

It sounds like you're moving in the right direction. I'm glad you have consulted an attorney for help with this. Unfortunately, it seems it's up to the applicant to prove his case so don't expect much help from the SS folks.

I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Warm hugs,
Donna

I can't remember, did you get the packet from the ICA? I used that, and also my urologist wrote a seperate letter. I was approved on the first try, so I don't know about the appeal process. I sent a lot of articles on IC. I think the story Louise had in the newspaper would be a good one to send. GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks Donna and Carly,

I didn't get a packet from ICA--a little short on funds--well when I went in person to the SS office, they wouldn't allow me to send in anything on IC. Not a thing. So now that I'm gonna go through a lawyer and the hearing, I'm going to send in the letters, all sorts of things on IC, Interstim, Fibro, etc. and hopefully it will all make a difference. I don't understand the gov't. :(

Thanks bunches!!

Jessica, you might give Jill a call and ask her for some advice. She's very helpful.

Hey Girlee

I dont know if you have worked in a while, but if you have try to get some of your coworkers to write letters for you about your frequent restroom trips and how it affected your job preformance. I am pretty sure this helped my case. Good Luck and God Bless ya LisaK

Thanks Lisa :) I haven't worked in awhile, and I don't think anyone wants to get involved, but I have found a fantastic lawyer! I am so excited to get the ball rolling!!
