My hips hurt sometimes. I am not sure if it is the IC or what.

Yes, I get also get pain referred from my bladder to my lower back, hips, upper inner thighs. Seems to be pretty common with IC. It's one of my worst symptoms and the hardest to get under control.

If I'm on my feet too long, my hips and lower back are very painful.

Briza, How long did it take to get it under control after you got the right meds? I am in my 8th day of A severe flare and fear I can't take much more of this constant pain. The pain meds really only take the edge off. My pain level is about 5-6 right now.

Even with all the pain meds I have now (you can see them in my sig) it can take me several doses and up to 4 hours for the back pain to stop. I can usually get my bladder pain under control within an hour. A heating pad helps, sometimes cold packs, too. If your Rx says you can take 2 vicodin at a time, maybe you can try that, in case your're only taking one pill at a time. And don't be afraid to take your pain med as prescribed when you're flaring like this, every however many hours it says to take it, otherwise it won't work as well. For some, taking the pain med on an empty stomach helps it work faster, but for me mine seem to work faster if I eat something. Sorry you're suffering so much right now! Hope any of this helps!
