All the time and effort payed off, I was excepted. The judge decided that I am disabled, and I should start recieving my benifits within 60 days. I was in so much shock, I really didnt think that judge was going to except me. I good things come in time. Thanks for all the help from everyone on here, and all the support. I probably would have givin up if it werent for all of you!!! Happy Day!!!!

How long did it take you to get approved from the first time that you applied for disability? Also did you apply for SSI or SSD? I was just denied for the second time & had to get a attorney to request a hearing date which I was told could take from 10 to 12 months to get a court date.

I first applied in June of 1999. I was denied in Aug. and I filed for an appeal right away. I did not hire an attorny, so I was messed with a lot. My file sat on someones desk for 8 months, and never got to the appeals office. Then some other stupid stuff happened. Finally I hired an attorny, and my court date was on March 19th. I just recieved my approval in the mail the other day. Its took a long time, but they have to pay me back pay from Sept. of 1999, so that is good I guess. Make sure you dont give up. I was told that when you reapply, you loose any backpay you would get from the first time you applied. Your case should go faster, because you already have an attorny, and they wont mess with you. Wish you luck, you will get it.
