View Full Version : I'm being tortured by my bladder!

I'm in the worst flare ever! Been hurting for almost 2 months now and I keep thinking that tomorrow it will be better but it's actually getting worse. A few days ago I thought that I was at the top of the pain chart, and now today I hurt even worse. I'm going out of my mind with this pain and I'm venting here because you are the only ones that know how unbearable this really feels. I've been sticking to the IC diet, no bad foods. But I did try a ton of ibuprofin with in the last few day thinking that it was going to help. That may be what made this so much worse. Who knows, how frustrating!!! Plus I work alot. And I just have to push my self and do it no matter how much it hurts. I do daycare and don't have the option of calling in sick. I take care of 10 kids from 3 months to 5 years old. I want to curl up in a ball and cry and I spend 11 hors a day chasing after little ones. OUCHY! The icing on the cake is that I have no medical insurance and can't afford a doctor so I'm just going nuts with the constant pain. I've tried every over the counter drug I could find. My best friend (the heating pad) isn't even helping much lately, the hot baths only dull the pain for as long as I can sit in the tub. I can't remember the last time I got a good nights sleep. Does anybody have any suggestions? Sorry that this is so long. Thanks, for letting me vent, my bladder is still screaming but my spirit feels a little better.
I am really sorry for your pain. You may have an infection and it won't get better without treatment, you really need to see a Dr. I do hope you have help with that many kids, I had my own daycare for almost 15 years and there is no way I could handle that many kids without help.
Without insurance, is there a county or state hospital or clinic you could go to?
I hope you are feeling better soon, but I really think you should see someone. grouphug grouphug

I hope i can help here.
so here goes i'm going to give it a shot.
in most city there is a free clinic that will help you at no charge. but most of them you have to prove income. you may be even able to get on medicaid call your local hosp and asked about the free clinic's to see if any is in your area. this is a team of all type of doctor that comes in and helps the sad part is that they may not know about ic but they can treat you for an infection.
I hope this helps some please be checked out even if you have to go to the er to be checked out i know that is very high in price but if you can send them just payment of 5.00 a mth they will take it.
best of luck prayers sent for you. kissing grouphug

You might check to see if you qualify for the clinic at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center in Portland --- I know they have a clinic, but don't know about qualifying. They have excellent physicians there and it might be worth a try.
I don't know about resources in Oregon City, but the UOHSC should be able to tell you.
Sending an encouraging hug,

Thanks for your suggestions. I did finally go to an immediate care clinic, cost me $90 bucks but found out that I did indeed have an infection and the dr. gave me some antibiotics, and bless his heart, a prescription for vicodin. only 15 of them but at least I have gotten a few nights of pretty good sleep. Then my period finally started and even with the menstral cramps, I have felt better than I have in a very long time. My bladder still hurts, but the pain level has dropped. Big sigh of relief! Just wanted you all to know that during those days when I was going out of my mind with pain, coming here to vent and read about the challenges that you all have, really helped me feel better. Your support and advice is invaluable. It makes such a huge difference to know that I am not alone and that there are so many others that really do understand how wicked this thing can be.

so sorry you have been feeling so bad. Ibeprofen is something us ICers shouldn't take. It is on Prelief's list of acidic things. Becareful. Hope that helps you and you feel a lot better soon and don't have to go through that again.:grouphug:
