Hi everyone,

In July 2006 I had my gallbladder out and my ovaries. I still had pelvic pain and twice within 3 months test did show I had a bladder infection. Finally I went back to the doc and said I still don't feel better, so he sent me in for a ct-scan and then found a mass that grew where my ovaries were. In Dec. 06, they went in and removed the mass. My doctor thought I would feel better after that , but I felt worse. Then he did an IVP thinking stones because my kidneys were hurting. The test came back no stone. I still had the kidney pain in my right kidney. Finally he sent me to a uro. They did they hydro and confirmed that I had servere IC. That would explain the pelvic pain but not the kidney pain. I don't have urinary frequency at all. It seems like the oppisite sometimes. Today I did not go for 6 hours and I drank to bottles of water.

In the morning when I go pee to hurts really bad in my right kidney while voiding. Does this make since to anyone? I don't understand why I have kidney pain. There has to be a logical reasons.

I was also told I had PFD yeterday. I start pt next week. Hopefully that will help with the back pain.

Hello!

I get flank pain too. I have severe IC and pretty bad PFD. The PFD can cause some major pain, and alot of the pain of IC can radiate to the back...mine does anyways. Heating pads help my back pain alot.

I really don't know what causes it, but I get pain in the area of the left kidney pretty frequently also. And it always tests clear. One thing that helps this pain for me is the lidocaine transdermal patch (lidoderm). It's a prescription, and it's expensive if your insurance doesn't cover it, but it's made a great difference for me. I would sugest that you ask your doctor about it; you have nothing to lose.
