Since my period came back in February, Ive noticed that my IC/vulva symptoms are better during Ovulation.

i dont have the burning after my urine stream, and I dont have the vulva burning either.

I do notice that I urinate a little bit more but its like peeing water and not acid like i have on most days.

Anyone know what hormones are more dominant during ovulation?

If i could be like this all month, i could get my life back.

thanks

I think hormones play a great role in IC patients..I know when I use to have a period the pain and burning was worse, so the doctor put me on continuios birthcontrol, so I never have a period.. I have found this helps greatly..

I have also heard that when people who have IC are pregnant that they go into remisson.. So yes I think hormones can have all kinds of affects on IC...

Estrogen? I'm not really sure, but it's definitely something to bring up with your doctor.

It does play a big role. I know when I had my periods I would have lots of pain and burning, BCP did help. Talk to your doctor.

I brought this up with my gyno on Monday, but he kind of didnt say anything about it. I brought it up with my uro too, but nothing was said about it.

I think they just feel hormones play a role but nothing that can be done.

Im going to keep asking until i get an answer.

I have an endocrinologist appt next week, so maybe he will know....or find it interesting.

Bizzare, I had the same thing this month but got the pain relief only for the one day.

This seems to say it's progesterone that rises when ovulation actually takes place.

I believe progesterone is dominant during pregnancy as well.

I'ts good you're seeing an endocrinologist. I'd be interested to hear what you learn. I'll be seeing one too but it will be a couple of months b4 I get in.

There are ways to influence the balance of your hormones w/ natural medicine and of course hormones drugs. I am certain hormones play a role myself.
