Hi there. I am 29 and was just this week diagnosed with IC. Thankfully, my doctor knew about it and was able to figure out what it was. My symptoms started showing up the end of January. After being treated with antibiodics for what was thought to be a bladder infection, and months of bladder pressure, urgency and light pain in the abdomen, I have just yesterday started taking Elmiron. It's going to take me a bit to get used to taking 3 pills a day, but I'm hoping that since we caught it early, we can do some good with it. I've read some threads on her and just feel awful for anyone who had to go through these symptoms for years or decades without relief. How madenning:mad: I had never heard of IC. I was actually doing a search online last week trying to see if I could find anything relating to my symptoms and came across an archived thread where someone mentioned IC so I used a search engine to see what it was. I hadn't mentioned it to my doc yet as a possibility since the symptoms matched, she came up with it on her own:) I'm glad I've found a group of people who obviously know and understand what I'm going through. Let me just tell you, I am soooooooooooo sick of going to the bathroom!:toilet: Sorry to babble! Just wanted to say hey to everyone!

:welcome: Hi, welcome to our site.
I would be lost without all of these wonderful people on here who have helped me through my cystectomy etc.
I feel like I have a second family, they are all so kind and understanding.
Most people on here have treatment for IC in the way of medication, I had tried everything there was to try, and had my bladder removed as a very last resort.
I am sure that you will get the support that you need on here.
Look forward to chatting to you in the future, and remember everyone on here have had, or do have ICor IBS, so they all know what they are talking about.
I too am sick of running for the loo and I have a NEW bladder.:toilet:
Take care :cat:
