(IC diagnosed March 07)

This is definatley not the first time i have had blood in my urine, but every time it happens i panic. I've been in a flare for a week or more and I'm doing everything I can do to manage. My pain right at the ending of my urine stream is soooo unbearable, and for 2 days my urine has been looking pink/reddish. When it gets this bad, i wonder if it could be a UTI (I've had several) but the last thing i want to do is drag myself to the DR. office and quite possibly be told it's nothing.

How many of you sometimes have blood in your urine, whether in a flare or not?

Advice????

Go get checked out asap!!! It sure could be an infection! Don't wait becuase if it is an infection it could travel to your kidneys! I hope you feel better soon!

I would also get it checked out. I also get that pain at the end of my urine stream. It is like a pinching pain. I hope you feel better soon.

 Indeed, please go get it checked out by your urologist. I too, have ignored a UTI that fairly quickly creeped into my kidneys. I had a fever 104 plus. When it is that high, you don't really feel the pain anymore. But then someone drags you to the hospital,so they can break it, only to send you home a few hours later, sweaty and in much more pain than ever!!! Mine was very resistant to antibiotic's so I struggled to hold them down for weeks! Until finally, a shot of em in the bum chased those angry buggers outta there!! It was the most miserable event of my life. Don't let it happen to you. If it is an infection, It will. First comes the burning, the blood, and then comes the flank pain, vomiting and deadly fever. Wouldn't wish it on a soul. Ever. Feel better.. and soon!! :smile tee

There are some here who say they always have a little blood in their urine. This could be a UTI, so get yourself to a doctor and have this checked out. Hope you start feeling better very soon.

Indeed she is right! I do believe there is even a group within this group for that. If you haven't been there, just go to Mark Threads and Scroll all the way down. Titled: Just for EC Patients (Eosinophilic Cystitis). Maybe that is what is up with you. Exactly why you must go to your UROLOGIST and not GEneral Practitioner for that! ALL THE BEST!! :smile tee

I have blood at the end sometimes without an infection. If there is an unusual smell to your urine though or if you have more pain than usual, you should get checked out. Another sign is cloudy looking urine.

I've been feeling awful today and all signs point to infection. I'm running a low fever, nauseated, increase in pain......

I will go to the Dr. as soon as possible. My husband was kind of an a-hole when i called him at work to see if he could cancel an appt. this evening. I just really don't feel capable of managing my girls, dinner, baths, etc. alone today. But, I've done it before.

Thanks for listening and caring today
