Woohoo!!! I got a puppy today! She's a 4 month old Jack Russell and her name right now is Buffy. I don't know if we're going to change it or not but that was the name that my hubby's cousin gave her so we're using it for now. She is so cute and she's actually very calm so far for a Jack Russell. I am so excited, I really wanted a lap dog and now I have one. She was sleeping in my lap earlier tonight. I'll have to post some pictures tomorrow morning but by the time I got the camera out tonight she was starting to get wound up again and it was hard to get a good picture.

I hope you have as much fun with your Jack Russell as ours. Gracie is very loving, skittish when it comes to strangers, and a bed hog. Since the day we got her she has to sleep in the bed, under the covers and between my knees. She tortures our cat and would play with her toys all day if we would cooperate. I always call her my energizer bunny. She is also very bossy when it comes to my other dogs. They definitely have a fun personality but are terrible yappers. I wouldn't trade her for anything though.

Alright, still have to post pictures in the morning but little dogs are so cute! I just woke up to pee (what a shock!) and my step son is taking her out back real quick. She was all snuggly with me with her head in my neck, I am loving this dog! Pictures in the morning I promise, back to bed with us.:smile tee

Okay, I think this should work

This is the best picture that I could get of her so far and I look horrible. I took about 5 pictures of her while my hubby was holding her but in every one of them she moved and you couldn't see her face.
She's so cute.:smile tee

My sister has a Jack Russell named Randall. He's about 7 years old now, and he's still full of energy and convinced that everyone in the world exists to play with him:puppy: . And he is so smart! One day, my sister was playing tug-of-war with him while she was watching TV. Eventually, she got tired of grabbing his sopping wet rope from him and told him "no more". She tried to ignore him, but he got his rope, put it on her lap, looked right at her for about a second, grabbed the rope and ran away with it - he won that round (or so he thinks)!

He sure is a cutie!! Just the right size too for snuggling with. It's funny how they know when you want a face picture of them. They always move and you end up with a butt picture instead. I've always wanted a small dog. Ours were big. None were under 80 lbs. Nothing I could pick up and carry away. You don't look horrible but then I think I never take a good pic either. He should keep you all busy and happy!

I just love Jack's- we had one. I will warn you though- make sure she knows who is boss! Our's also liked to sleep with us under the covers- he would get overheated and his panting would wake me up! Your puppy is very cute- as for housebreaking- every time you go pee- take her out too!:)

Congrats on the new addition. Dogs are such a great anti-depressant!

That's what I'm finding Carolyn! It's so relaxing and calming to have her around. She cuddled up next to me on the couch asleep while I'm on the laptop. I am really enjoying her already.:smile tee

My dogs, Molly and Belle, the papillon sisters (one year apart)are so much fun. Sure do love them! Yesterday at the grocery store a young lady has a cute puppie wrapped up in a blanket. I asked about it. It was a 2 month Jack Russell. They are fun dogs. Probably way to early to have it among people. But I enjoyed see it. :puppy: :puppy: suebee

Pets are about the best thing to cheer you up. I'm in bed with pillows stacked behind me, heating pad under my bottom, a pillow with a laptop on my lap, my mini dach likes to lay down my side with his bottom on part of my heating pad, my rat terrier/jack russel is curled into my other side and I have my feet on my tabby cat. Such sweet hearts. I love them.
Good luck with the potty training. :)

That's the great thing about getting a pup that's a little bit older...the one I got first was about 4 months old and super easy to housebreak:bow: ...now I have her sister, from another litter, and she's only 8 weeks now and LOTS of accidents:help: ; even though I'm doing the same crate training that I did with the first one, I guess it's just her age.

Also discovered 4 kittens in the alley today right at my backdoor...I think someone must have dumped them because they seem healthy and weaned and pretty tame and I haven't seen any mama cat hanging around. There was also a pile of scrap food, probably left there so the kittens wouldn't follow whoever left them there. And oh they are cute and all colors...gray, siamese, orange tabby and and a black tuxedo one. :) I'm thinking about keeping the siamese, she seems the most tame and who can resist those blue eyes?
