Interstim and your frequency?

OK those os you feel like the Interstim has been a success for you in terms of frequency......

How many times a day do you go????

My frequency before my interstims was between 16 to 18 times during the day. At night I was going 3 sometimes 4 times. If I was lucky I went 2 times at night...
With the two interstims working I go 7 to 10 at day, and 1 at night. Depends of how much water I drink at dinner... But I don't go more than 2 times.
The only thing that is not helping me is the urgency... He has tried ditropan and detrol but I feel they don't help at all.
Another thing, 3 weeks ago, I start to feel the stimulation in a different place... I'm scared to death, but my doctor told me that it can't move after 8 months of my surgery. He told me that maybe the electrodes changed by themselves. That it happens sometimes in the first year, and when you have 2 interstims inside... I hope he is right!.
I have to see him, but I can go until next month...

Well before I had the InterStim done over four years ago, I was going up to 63 time a day to pee it was the most awful thing in my life.
Then my urethra tube went partly paralyzed and I self-cath myself every four hour over a two and half year span.
So since the InterStim I go up to six times a day and I am able to sleep the whole night with out getting up..
Also I agree with Mary, if I drink a whole lot of water before bed I may be up once during the night..

Also Yvette over the four years with the InterStim I had about four adjustments in all..

Hi Yvette-----the interstim has bee wonderful for me! Before the implant, I was going @20 times a day, but it was really awful at night because I got NO sleep. I was up 7-8 times a night to go to the bathroom------even if it was only a teaspoon! Now I have my life back again----I can even sit thru an entire movie! It did take 3 adjustments before I had any positive results. And I still take Detrol LA, but all of it is soooo

I had my interstim put in 4/16. Before I voided 20 times a day and 4 to 5 and night. Now I go 7 to 10 times a day and 1 or 2 at night. I have had one adjustment as to where I feel the stimulation. The urgencey is a lot less than what it was.

I lived in the potty 30 to 45 times a day and getting up 4 to 7 times a night. Since the interstim I go 7 to 9 times a day and most of the time sleep all night, if i do get up it is only once.

Thanks Ladies for all your help, I'm sometimes feeling blue about this whole IC a mess mainly because my results with Interstim are so unrelaible and all across the board.

Some days I can drink a whole Dunkins Donuts *Big One* (its more than 20oz.) and some days I can go 2 hours before I pee it out and other days....8oz of coffee will make me miserable with frequency til the next day.

And I keep peeing out 4oz every 10 minutes when frequency flares (that's a lotta pee, yes?)

Hi all. I had my interstim implant in Sept. 2001 like 4 days before 9/11 anyways before the interstime I would go up to 42 + times a day and a couple of night. Mine has always been more of a day than a night thing.

I have found that the interstim can vary on how well it works. I feel that when I flare the goodness of the interstim goes down a great deal. When I am flaring I go about every 30 to 40 minutes. And on good days I can hold it longer. To me anything was an improvement over 40x a day. You do have to get adjustments on the interstim and I have not had one in almost 7 months. I am doing that Monday. As for the urgency...The interstim I thought was suppose to help that and frequency. But for me personally when I get to the point I have to go the urgency gets really really bad.

Over all my experience has been a postive one with the interstim. I am now getting the pain problem which for me has not been much. I think my Uro wants me to start DSMO treatments for that.
