I was thinking how everyone says I never earned the SSI or how awful I use the medicaid. Well, to bad! I was in my late 30's having to go to someone to ask for money just to buy socks and if I wanted my hair done that was a battle. no one ever paid me for my help. They all bought new cloths, cars, houses, traveled, husband, kids and all that time I was home doing the house work, baby sitting, taking care of animals they should have taken care of. So, I earned it all and then some.
I don't think its anyone's business how you support yourself,
as long as you're not doing anything illegal or unethical.
Doesn't sound like that's the case, so anyone else's opinion is not important....
(Amazing though, how many people have so many opinions, and so little knowledge sometimes...)

I think people like you and alot of ICers should be able to receive benefits, I was even thinking of applying.. I mean heck I cant work feeling like I do some days..I know an employer would not put up with it for long..
I am still considered employed by walmart just on leave.. My stupid doctor would help me by said it was medical related, so I receive no benefits.. Uhgg I get so mad just thinking about it..
But anyways you deserve the benefits and dont let anyone make you feel bad about that!!!!:smile tee

Believe me when I say that if you didn't need it, you wouldn't be receiving it.

Waterflow you sound like me. My husband and I would do work for his mother, and uncles and etc. It was mostly doing things for their house so they would not have to paid someone to do it. Including cutting grass, fixing pipes, , repairs around the house. And low behold when my husband got sick, no one was around to help. Well I knew they wasn't able to help because we mostly helped those who were older and those who couldn't help themselves.
What I am trying to say, you work without pay and sometimes it is unnoticed, but you deserve any help you can get. Don't you dare let someone tell you, you don't deserve it.
Sending hugs, Trishann

Count me in with the gang here - if you didn't deserve it you wouldn't get it! Basically you are like a full-time homemaker, and Dr Phil (yeah, yeah, Dr Phil) has said it's like the equivalent of 3 full time jobs!!!!!!! So, basically, you work your behind off!!!! ;) So, tell them all to stuff it! ;)
