three day flare

I have been flareing for three days now i know i have an infection but i cant get to the doctor because of having to take everyone else to the doctor when i pee it is like i'm peeing hot thick lava Oh how i want to scream and cry at the same time. yesterday alone i took eight perocets and three heparin treatments the heparin helped the most but only for about an hour then the pain came back. gggggrrrrrrrrrr. (banging my head). I dont know what to do i started taking leviquin 250mg i have at home for back up but i can't hardle take care of my self right now between son being sick still. his private part is swollen i sit in the doctor office waiting room for three hours yeasterday because he had to be a work in and i know others was work in too and they was only one doctor there ggggggrrrrrrrr. i got up and fially said to the nurse up front how many people are in front of my kids they said three i said i have been here for three hours i have already tooking my pain meds ya'll know i have ic and how bad it is because ya'll was the ones who sent me to my uro. I think they are mad because i changed family doctor for my self but i left my children with them. but anyway i said cant you put them in front of a few people since i been here this long and i'm in pain .....she went to the back and no they wouldnt do it. ggggggrrrrrrrr ((((cussing))))) so i left and made an appt for brandon to see the doctor at 10:30 am i wanted to go this morning but i've just been able to pull my self out of the bed i had to let my husband stay out of work to take him and i wanted to be there my self. hopefully tomorrow i can get to my doctor i know he will help me if i can just get to him i dont have anyone else to take me or i would have called them. OH i'm at my witts end here in pain!!!!! please god give me some relief. it hurts to walk it hurt to do anything but lay still with a heating pad on my bladder. OH it hurts so bad i need a break! Please --- get yourself to your doctor --- your infection can only get worse if it's not treated. And if you absoutely can't get there, telephone him --- this may be one of those times when it's necessary to take a broad spectrum antibiotic and pray that it's the right one.

I wish I were closer --- I'd come pick you up and get you to your doctor.

hi donna thanks for offering (big smile) that is sweet i wish you wasnt so far away too. I really need to get to the doctor asap.
I did call the doctor office and tried to get an appt for tomorrow but the office closes tomorrow at one pm and they cant see me all i can do is drop off a urine but i have already started the leviquin the pain is going to my right kidney and i have shotting sharp pains running down my right leg. OH HOW IT HURTS (((((CRYING)))))) my doctor want even be in tomorrow i can't keep taking these pain pills like this Jeff had to go to work after coming back from the doctor with Brandon and Guess what???? when jeff got to the doctor office with Brandon they cancelled his appt because the doctor has a meeting (((hello have the heard of a phone to call me to do this)))) so brandon is still in pain i'm in pain Jeff had to go to work and now i have to walk a 1/2 mile at 2:30 to pick up my kids from the bus stop. just because of where my mail box is they said if it isnt a 1/2 mile they dont and will not come down my road to drop the children off. and we only have one car i dont know how im going to do this but i'm going to have too. ((((crying)))).
I'm going to take them a urine in tomorrow if i can make it until then I need to go to the er i guess but the wait is so long there and they dont know there butts from a hole in the ground about ic there gggggggrrrrrrrrrr! so i dont know should i go and take a chance they will help me with the pain or sit here and suffer and hopes i can get something done tomorrow??????((confussed)) My urine is dark yellow almost orange and i cant take the stuff that changes your urine colors so it isnt that. I'm just banging my head here!!!

thanks everyone a small but really no good update on brandon Jeff took him in to the doctor today and guess what they dont know how to pick a phone up and call and cancel someone appt. when they got there the doctor was in a meeting and couldnt see brandon so now we have to take him back tomorrow when i needed to go to the doctor myself before one pm. gggggrrrrrrrrr. I can't win for loseing I think i got a big sign over my head that says kick her while she is down (((banging head))))) when are we going to get our gremlin back i need them right now. Are you able to take over the counter bladder spasm meds like pyridium? I have a terrible time with recurring UTI's on top of the I.C. I know exactly what kind of pain your in. I take a urell, or pyridium until I can give the dr. a spcimen. I'm surprised your dr. hasn't offered to call in one since your having a hard time getting there. You have got to get it treated soon before it reaches your kidneys. I know the ER is a pain but they will at least take a UA and culture. They will give you I.V. antibiodics do that it gets in your system quick. They may not understand the I.C. or treat you for the pain but at least they could get you on an antibiodic and antispasmodic. I just had to go to the ER the other day because it was the weekend and my already bad flare got worse because I had an infection. It was a hassle but they gave me I.V antibiodics, a shot of morphine/phenergan and a B&O suppositories upon strong request. Please Please go to a clinic or ER quickly. Let us know how your doing tomorrow.

Thank you everyone for your careing thoughts it is 1:50 am in the morning and i still havent went to sleep after all the medicine i have taking My husband is still up with me takeing care of me we are going to take Brandon to the doctor at 9 am in the morning after taking the other two to school then he is going to take me to the er. the only reason i'm going to go to the er is because i know my doctor will not be in tomorrow or should i say today Now. because i called and they said he would not be in friday plus the office closes at one pm on fridays. when i pee it feels like the urine is draining from my right kidney i'm very weak right now so iv may be the best thing for me and when i pee OH how it hurts. hopefully they will treat me then send me home I will let ya'll know how Brandon is doing and I am tomorrow.

I'm glad you will get some help soon. Maybe if you sat in a warm tub you could get a little relief from the spasms tonight. It helps me sometimes when I'm really bad. I will be praying for you. I too am having a hard time going to sleep even after my meds. Ask them for a shot of pain meds and B&O suppository for the severe spasms. It's very potent but it will help stop the spasms quickly. I was given one after my hydro. and remembered how it helped me so I asked for it when I went to the ER this last time with an infection and severe spasms and pain. I had to insist on it a few times before they agreed but my persistence paid off. I hope you get someone understanding. God Bless you!

UPDATE:
Brandon went to the doctor this morning and was seen they sent him for an xray we will know more about that next week but the doctor couldnt seem to find anything wrong with him said everything looked normal

as far as i go i had to go to my family doctor today because i was afraid of going to the er because most doctor in the er around here dont know ic from here hole in there butt. :( he gave me an anti shot he said personal he knowed i needed a pain shot but my family doctor dont keep that type of medicine in the office and he said i needed to be in the hosp. but he was going to try to keep me out of there. He is a sweet doctor but not much help with ic i really needed my uro. today. I called my uro's office thank god someone was still there and answered the phone i asked them to take a note on what was going on and call my family doctor to get his notes and told them what he done and gave me. and you know what the rn had to say "well if he thought you needed a pain shot then why didnt he give you one" HELLO they dont keep that type of drugs at there office! anyway the family and the uro's office said if i couldnt take the pain anymore to go to the er over the weekend to get some help. Just what i don't want to do but the pain is so bad i will end up there :( i'm fighting the pain with everything i got right now. i havent had much sleep because of pain. the family doctor said that was the wrose infection he is seen in many many years. he said the infection showed there is infection going to my kidney so all of you pray for me i'm in lots of pain i'm taking two perocets 10.325 at one time they are playing with my head but not helping pain. :( but i guess when you read this post you will know i'm taking something because more then likely i have repeated my self thousand times LOL sorry if i did.

here it is pass midnight again here in south carolina and i'm so sleepy but i cant sleep because of the pain :( :mad: banghead i have slept today from all the pain medicine i have taking but for some reason at night the pain gets wrose why is that :confused: still no fever that is the good part but i believe that is due to the fact i have taking so much perocet and it has tylonal in it. please pray for me this uti is awful the test showed something in it where they can see it was going up to the kidney. eek I hope the shot works by tomorrow the anti. if not I will be in the ER. i think i counted my chicks before they hatch i'm in more pain then ever now i have a real sharp pain in my right side that is running down my leg. banghead i figure after two anti shot this should be well under way of getting better plus i'm on anti. i'm being to think they have gave me the wrong anti for this infection. eek i'm so weak. but at least i'm eating again. i beginning to wonder when will this ever stop i know ya;ll know how i feel. first thing in the morning my doctor will be called and hopefully he will see me if i'm going to the office anyway and i'm not leaving until i see him.

I'm sorry your having such a hard time with this infection and pain. Has your dr cultured your urine? The test should show which antibiodics would be effective to treat the inf. They probably won't have the results back for a few days. When I went to the ER in pain with an inf. a few weeks ago it turned out that the ER dr. gave me an antibiodic that wouldn't cover the bacteria present so my uro switched it.

When you see your dr. next ask about a suppository called B&O. It helps with the spasm and pain. I have used it along with my morphine when I get really bad. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

I don't why I didn't think of this earlier-perhaps you are passing a kidney stone(s). I had kidney stones when I was first diagnosed with ic. It was the worst pain that I have ever felt! The pain radiated down my right flank, into my stomach, then I could feel the stones almost wedged in my groin. I couldn't bend over without the pain shooting in my bladder. It took about about two weeks for the stones to pass. To have stones and then ic is excrutiating. I wasn't admitted to the hospital with the stones since I never had stones before. When I went to er I was told that I had the flu-given demerol and gravel and sent home. I then went to the walk in clinic two days later (my gp wasn't in) and the doctor (who is a regular customer at the Starbucks that I manage) was horrified that the dr. at the er didn't do xrays and that fact that I was sent home (he actually took the dr's name-he is also an er doctor) Anyway, long story short, I was immediately off work. So perhaps you have a stone(s) and your dr about it.

an small update on me
my uro's office called they are still waiting on the lab test to come back on my urine. even tho he gave me 120 perocets on the 12th they know i have been taking two at a time and they also know i wouldnt except any pain medicine from my family doctor that said I needed to be in the hosp. so he has wrote me 120 more perocet for me to come pick up if the test show what we think it is going to show i will be in the hosp for a few days so if i disapper on ya'll guys you will know why right now i'm playing the awful waiting game. banghead i'm still burning when i pee i still have the sharp pain in myside and the pain is running down my leg and my back right kidney feels like someone beat me there with a bat. Oh do you want to hear something funny that makes me angery when i was in the er sat. the er doctor was talking to me and i told him i felt like when i peed that i was peeing hot thick lava he said you know you could get rich off that. ggggrrrrr cussing here i am in a ball from the pain and he has to say something like that what has happen to bed side manner. thank you everyone kissing i'm still playing the waiting game they still dont know what to do with me because the lab hasnt sent in all my test yet. :( they said they should be in tomorrow evening. the doctor wrote me out 120 more perocet 10.325 but my inc want pay for them again until tomorrow but that is okay i still have alot left i had just got them filled on the 12th i think i got about 20 left until morning and if that dont ease the pain then i need to be in the hosp. frown

It's a pain waiting on the cultures to come back from the lab because it takes 3 days to grow it. I usually start on antibiodics while we're waiting but I am very aware of when I have an infection and my nurse and dr. have begun to realize that I'm always right. I keep getting infections as it seems you do too so I'll go on a low dose antibiodic when I finish this full round to fight the current UTI.

I'm sure you've had a nasty infection. I'm glad they gave you 2 shots of antibiodic but have they given you an oral antibiodic too. I can't remember if you told us that or not. If you get a lot of recurring UTI's have you ever tried going on a low dose to prevent them? I still got an infection because the low dose antibiodic I was taking (macrobid) didn't cover the bacteria that I got so I ended up with yet another one. It really makes it hard to keep your I.C. treated when the bacterial infections keep irritating the bladder.

I hope you will get all the answers your waiting on soon. We've all been praying for you to feel better. angel Keep resting and taking those pain pills in the meantime.

I know that you have been under a tremendous amount of stress. Maybe a few days in the hospital with an I.V. antibiodic and a morphine drip would be good for you. I hope you are able to get at least some rest. I feel so bad for you and I can certainly understand the physical pain your in. I don't know about the second antibiodic you mentioned but the first one, Levoquin, is the strongest antibiodic for most UTI's. My dr. calls it our ace in the hole. He just gave me some because my infections kept coming back on the low dose of macrobid. I'm taking 500 mg. and when I'm over this infection I'll take 250 mg every day to prevent more. The 250mg for your infection seems low but maybe that's because your taking another one with it. I might ask him about that when you call to get your culture results tomorrow. Is it your culture that your still waiting on? I hope you feel better soon.

i'm waiting on one part of the culture to come back there is one part of it they are still waiting on there still testing and that should be the key to my problems once that is back we will know more what we are dealing with.

I hope the culture will show the dr. what antibiodic will get rid of your particular bacteria. When I went to the ER the dr. gave me a Rx of Augmentin to get filled after I had an I.V.antibiodic while I was there. I saw my dr. the next day and she looked back at the cultures from the past 2 infections during this month and said the antibiodic ER dr.gave me wouldn't kill the bacteria that was in them. She decided to change it to one that would get the bacteria most likely to be in the culture from the ER. Sure enought when the ER culture came back it showed that the first RX for augmentim wouldn't have gotten rid of the infection. I didn't realize how the were able to determine which antibiodic to use based on the type of bacteria found in the culture. I hope they get it all figured out for you too! I know we're both sick of this never ending cycle of pain and infections! banghead
