Hi I just had a laporoscopy done, where the dr. viewed that I had scars on my bladder. What does this mean? Is this what cuases the urinary discumfort and pain. I do not have to go to the bathroom more than 3-4 times a day and I have constant lower back pain, and I usually have a flare up after voiding. Does anyone have any info. on scars? What they do, can they be remeoved, what helps get rid of them?

I have alot of scar tissue on my bladder as well. The way my uro described it to me is that my bladder has constant spasing and that it has caused this over the many years I went without dx. I was finally dx 4 years ago and at that time I was told my bladder looked like a 70 year old bladder I was 40. Not pleasant hearing that. I hope this helps. Also I have most pain after voiding and lower back pain are my most common complaints. I also have had a complete hysto, so I know these pains I feel down there are not ovary related.

I also have scar tissue on/in my bladder; it happens after years of inflammation take their toll on the tissue. There's really nothing you can do to really get rid of it, since it's just like a scar on your skin -- they may lessen with some treatment but never go away.

I also believe it is from the inflammation of the bladder which eventually scar the bladder. Hoping your doctor is treating your bladder so this will not continue constantly.

I have had a nice history with UTIs since I was 21. 10 years ago I had infection after infection and went to a urologist. I had what he called a chronic ifection and this is why I kept getting bladder infection. 3 months of antibiotic therpay and I was okay. I do take a low dose of macrdantin after intercourse and this has helped the frequnecy of infections. Maybe 1 per year if that.
Last week I went to the doc with painful bladder spams and the urgnecy to urinate. He gave me Cipro (what I am usually prescribed as sulfur no longer touches the problem). I started having the same symptoms on Sunday and returned to the doc today. He told me that there were no bacteria in either test that I have given urine samples for. He told me that he could not do anything else for me and that it may just be stress. God I hate it when doctors pass everything off on stress that they cannot answer for!
Made an appointment for next Monday with my urologist and have been investigating. Any ideas? Sex is not painful unless I am having symptoms. I do not have any pelvic pain. I am scared as it sounds like many of you really have a hard time with this. I dread the scope test I know the urologist will probably do when I go. I have had them before and they hurt!!! Any commentsto mysituation would be of great help. Right now I absolutley hate my body for doing this!

Kimd69,
I'm so sorry you are going through this as well. I'm glad you've found a support team here at The ICNetwork. You can know that you aren't walking this road alone, you have sisters and brothers to walk it with you.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do,
Moonheart
