I want to die

My bladder is still not peeing! I can go a dribble every 4-5 hours but nothing in between? My doc said colds can be brutal on IC patients. He also said that somtimes our bladders just give up and say no more....He said he thought I would be better by Monday. It's not better yet??? Will it get better or do I have to wait for time to take it's course? I have used warm baths and a heating pad since yesturday, which allow me to go but not as often as I need to. THe 4-5 hours that I can not go are EXCRUCIATING!!!!!! I am a full HATER of caths all sizes all types!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I won't do it,,I'll die first!

I've been off of work for a week and I HAVE to go back tomorrow and I also get my period tomrrow and the freq and urg with the period range from every 3-10 minutes! What the hell am I going to do?

Kara, I'm so sorry you are having such a difficult time.

Now I'd like you to think about something. If you get a splinter in your finger and have someone else remove it ... it HURTS! But ... if you take it out yourself, it's much easier.

It's the same with catheters. If you learn to do your own, it's not painful at all. Before I learned, I was absolutely horrified at the thought, but now it doesn't bother me one bit. And the feeling of accomplishment ... and just the security of knowing that I can do it if I need to is really a comfort to me.

Many, many people on this board who thought they couldn't cath themselves are now doing it with no problem.
