What are IC friendly foods high in fiber? I take a fiber supplement and stool softener and it's not enough lately. Any suggestions would help out a lot! I don't have time to research if on-line.

The fiber supplement is a good starter for long term use however I recently asked my family doctor about stool softeners & he informed me they're for occasional use only just so you are aware.
I used to take Wal Mart's brand of Citrucel tablets I didn't have any excess gas with those. I'd also use Benefiber's powder & couldn't taste it on food or in beverages.
Oatmeal, Barilla pasta, Kashi products are some that you may wish to consider. I used to make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies monthly when I was PMSing so I could inhale chocolate & not get constipated!

We eat oatmeal most mornings and that takes care of my fiber needs. There are some conditions that do require a full time stool softener, but usually they are for short term use.

I just tried Milk of Magnesia a couple nights ago because people were talking about it here. It seemed to be too strong. Also, Dulcolax is way too strong. The stool softeners seems to be the only thing that works. And I really need them! I stopped taking them once because I heard that about the occasional use and I had the worst constipation and then blood in my stool. So I went to my Dr. and he said that it was okay to use them. I felt kind of dumb for letting it get so bad.
I should really focus on changing my diet though. I don't think I eat enough green veggies or oatmeal. I do eat pinto beans quite a bit.
I wish I could find a natural supplement for this problem. I know there are soooo many different things out there. I just read a post about a type of oil that someone uses once a day.
Brown rice, oatmeal, whole wheat bread if you can find one without irritating ingredients, dates, pears. I make pear oat bran muffins & I also make the zucchini bread on Heather Van Vorous' IBS webpage. Knudsen makes a lowfat cottage cheese with inulin (fiber) added in it, good & does help with constipation. I eat it with a chopped pear & granola or a muffin.
If I have a salad, I make sure to have some cooked veggies at the same time or I get constipated. Really annoying.
One tip that really helped me was taking the Colace (stool softener) with food. Taking it by itself was pretty much useless, but taking it with breakfast & lunch made it much more effective.

Maybe you could try adding a sprinkle of ground flax seed to some of your meals. That would give you extra fiber. You could also use a half teaspoon of wheat bran mixed in a desert. You can also try a half teaspoon of extra virgin coconut oil in warm water or tea. They stock the coconut oil at health food stores. You could try these if they seem okay for you bladder wise.
