Okay I was at work yesterday with the visiting CPA who brought us Krispy Kreme Donuts, and so I go and read the box and it has a ton of chemicals. So I say no way Jose am I trying those!!! Lunch time rolls around and of course there are still two donuts left, and what do you think I did? Well let me tell you, I had the flare of all flares, and am still suffering a tad. I had to pee every 5 minutes, and meet again with the accountant at 8:00am this morning to tie up loose ends before he flew back home. Try concentrating on accounting problems after a night of no sleep!! I finally took a Urised at 1:30am, but it hardly touched it!!! I'm a bit better now, and hopefully I'll get some sleep because I was really out of it today!! Thank God it's Friday!!!! Moral of the story: Krispy Kreme is a no no!!:bonk: :loco::tsk:

Oh ya and to top it off my 20 year old cat was howling all night!!

So good night everybody, I'm going to bed!!!:woohoo:

I'd be beside myself if KK bothered me..haha..Unfortunately you had to find out the hard way, however now you know to steer clear and add that to your 'no-no' list.
I'll eat one for you next time I get my 'fix'.
Feel better soon, dear!

I too love Krispy Kreme donuts and I must follow the IC diet to prevent bladder pain. However, if the donuts come directly from their bakery site, they are fresh and not full of preservatives. But you still have to watch for the fruity fillings (acidy), etc. So I can have the plain glazed. The boxed Krispy Kreme donuts found in general GROCERY STORES are produced with multiple bladder offensive preservatives in order to have a long shelf life. So, do not purchase these. I just make sure a fresh donut is plain, glazed and not too raised (high yeast content) and it's early enough in the day that I have a chance to drink plenty of fluids. This goes for many foods that are not a problem during the day, but eaten late at night become more concentrated in the bladder during sleep and cause pain upon awakening. I try to not eat after 8 PM for this reason. I know us bladder sufferers do not always tolerate the same foods so only try one new thing at a time and early in the day with plenty of fluids. I hope this info helps someone. I have had painful bladder syndrome since 1997 and would love to exchange ideas.

I can eat the donuts from a bakery down the street without incident. These were the offending "Grocery Store KK packed with preservatives"!!! I'm becoming much better after a year dealing with this to determine what my poisons are!!!lololol I think honey flares me too!! Does anyone else here have a problem with honey?
