Elavil & constipation/urinary retention?

Hi there,
Anyone on Elavil...I have IBS but am curious about starting Elavil. Has anyone experienced severe constipation and/or urinary retention? Thanks.

Hi there

Yes I have IBS too and I do know that Elavil can cause constipation and urinary retention...depending on the dose.

My doctor gives me a medication to help with the constipation and I also take fig sirup which works wonders.
How long have you been taking elavil because these side effects normally settle down..take care
