Still trying to find what's going to work for both anxiety and depression. I'm familiar with Celexa, but this is the first I've heard of Buspar. So...today I was prescribed 20 mg Celexa and will increase to 40 mg in a week.
Then in 2 weeks I start 7.5 mg Buspar twice a day for 2 weeks then increase to 15 mg twice a day. The Buspar is supposed give additional help for anxiety, non-addictive, and more of a maintenance med than ativan, which I am now taking for anxiety.

Anyone have any experience with either of these? TIA :)

I have tried both. Neither worked for me, but I have tried just about every med there is out there for depression/anxiety. Wellbutrin works for me. Depression meds for some reason, are a very personal thing, and everyone responds differnt to different meds. When you find the right one or combo, you will know-TRUST ME! Dont give up!

Briza,
I have tried Buspar before, not for IC..It was prescribed for anxiety. I had to stop it though, because I was getting severe chest pains with it..

Thanks for the fast replies, Erika and Ronda!
Wellbutrin is probably the next one I will try if this doesn't do it. Ronda, I'm sorry you had bad side effects with Buspar. I will remember to watch out for that.

Since I wasn't having any side effects since I started Celexa last week, my dr told me to go ahead and start the Buspar and so far so good, no side effects from that one either. So hoping this will help. She had warned me that both of these meds might make me a little more anxious in the beginning but I haven't experienced any increase over my "normal" :help: anxiety. Anyway, praying this is the combo that works.
